NOTE: SO, because I'm evil, I'll let the cliffhanger from the last chapter linger on for a little bit.
This one mainly focuses on Klaus, the Mikaelsons, and two new characters. I felt like it would make sense to write out this idea now since I have the next few chapters planned out already. 💛

"You've barely touched your veggies, Elijah. Afraid they might be poisoned?" Klaus questioned.
Elijah slammed his fork down onto the dinner table, giving Klaus a look that would've been enough to kill on its own if such a thing had been possible. "The rest of us would prefer to dine in peace without your pointless banter, Niklaus."
"Ah, and have our siblings lost the ability to speak their minds? The noble Elijah, always stepping up to put the bastard in his place." Klaus paused, slowly starting to clap. "Well done."
"And this is why our family dinners never seem to work," Freya said, shaking her head in disappointment at her brothers.
"Bloody hell.. They never work because they aren't meant to happen, Freya," Kol rolled his eyes, downing the rest of the wine in his glass.
"I say we address the elephant in the room, hm? Elijah is still deeply heartbroken and none of us are being considerate of the way our brother is feeling," Klaus fakes a frown as he stood up, raising his glass to make a toast. "I believe I speak for our dear brother when I say that whoever happens to be the first to find Sarah and tear her heart out, will be Elijah's favorite sibling."
"Why on earth would we do that?" Rebekah questioned in disbelief.
Klaus set his glass down, tilting his head to the side as he smirked. "Elijah, would you care to fill our sister in, or shall I?" When Elijah didn't reply, Klaus was once again speaking despite the anger on his brother's face.
"Well, Rebekah, while you were off on your little holiday with Marcellus, you just so happened to miss our brother getting his heart broken. How long has it been, Elijah? A week? Two?"
Elijah was moments away from ripping his brother apart, but he couldn't allow himself to. He drew in a deep breath before slowly standing up from his seat. "Thank you for preparing dinner tonight, Freya." Without another word, Elijah left the compound to take a much needed walk outside.
"It's still a bit of a sore subject for him, but I suppose I would feel the same if a woman told me that she no longer wanted me in her life over a text message."
"You're cruel, Nik," Rebekah slams her fork and knife down, leaving the table as quickly as she could.
Freya could only shake her head at Klaus before she'd leave the table as well.
"I thought that was a lovely performance, brother," Kol said with a soft chuckle. "Elijah's pain and suffering never fails to bring me joy."
"Locking you away in a box that you lay daggered in never fails to bring me joy."
And just like that, Kol was angrily leaving the table, leaving Klaus sitting at it alone. Klaus told himself that he didn't mind, or even care that he'd turned his family against him in a matter of minutes, but below the surface he'd been in just as much pain as the rest of them.
After finishing his meal, Klaus slowly walked up the steps and over to Hope's room, opening the door as quietly as he could. Of course, she hadn't been asleep. She was always restless on the night of a full moon.
He carefully removed her from the crib, walking over to the rocking chair in the room and sitting down, securely holding her within his arms as he rocked back and forth.
"I hope that you won't inherit much from me, littlest wolf. Certainly not my paranoia."
It was true that Klaus had hated Sarah for the pain she was putting Elijah through, yet something seemed off about it. He didn't have the opportunity to discuss it with Elijah when his brother wasn't himself at the moment, and he didn't have any of his other siblings to back him up either.
But Klaus' mind refused to allow him to believe that Sarah was this cruel.
"Your uncle doesn't deserve this pain," Klaus said, kissing the top of Hope's head just before setting her down in her crib. "Ah, one last thing. Make your father proud and throw a fit when Jackson comes for you in the morning." Klaus smiles at the way Hope attempted to speak to him. He'd be damned if Hayley tried to get their daughter accustomed to referring to Jackson as her father.
Without the help of his siblings, Klaus decided to pay a visit to the next best thing. He's knocking on Marcel's door in no time, only to force the door open and allow himself inside. He smirked as he walked up to Marcel, who'd just so happened to be having a conversation with none other than Vincent.
"Ohhh no, whatever this is," Vincent gestured between Klaus and Marcel, "I don't want no part of it."
"I haven't said a word, mate," Klaus replied, raising his hands up in defense. "But I'm glad you're here. The more, the merrier."
Marcel sighed, "Look, Vincent, I had no idea he'd pop up.. uninvited."
"You expect me to believe that?" Vincent asked, scoffing. "It's all the same with you vampires, dragging the witches into your business and not giving a damn about what happens to us."
"Klaus, get out. Now," Marcel said.
"Am I not the right Mikaelson for you, Marcellus? I'd be doing my best to get back onto my good side, else then punishment for taking my sister away will be unlike any pain imaginable."
"See?! That's what I'm talkin 'bout, Marcel. Right there. Threats, manipulation.. it doesn't end."
"Are you feeling left out, Vincent? There are plenty of threats to go around, like the one that's going to be a consequence if you decide not to help me."
Klaus smirked when silence filled the room. He was in control now, just the way it should be.
"Vincent, I need you to perform a locator spell. Marcellus, accompany me once we have our destination."
"Yeah? And who exactly are we looking for?" Marcel asked.
"Someone who I feel is in need of being found."
Vincent pointed a finger at Klaus. "This is the last thing I ever do for your kind. You best be thankful the ancestors aren't watching our every move anymore."
It didn't take long for Vincent to locate Sarah somewhere in California, and Klaus and Marcel are on the road in no time.
Marcel wasn't too happy about being stuck in a car with Klaus for however long it would take them to get to their destination, but keeping an eye on Klaus meant that he could be sure Rebekah wasn't suffering.
"It was my idea, by the way. The trip Rebekah and I took. She needed a break from this town."
"You know nothing about what my sister needs," Klaus immediately said.
"I don't know anything about why I'm here either. Why not take Freya? Elijah?"
Klaus sighed, his eyes remaining on the road ahead as he spoke. "My siblings aren't particularly pleased with me at the moment, but believe it or not this trip will get us both back into Elijah's good graces."
"And how's that?"
"I had Vincent locate Sarah," Klaus explained. "She ended things with Elijah and disappeared from town."
"So your solution is to, what, find her and ask her why she's not into your brother anymore?"
"I'm not entirely sure that it was her decision to leave."
"You're grasping at straws, Klaus. What you should be doing is helping your brother move on."
"I don't recall asking you for your advice. You know nothing.. Sarah wouldn't put Elijah through this."
Marcel didn't respond, instead sneaking his phone out of his pocket to text Rebekah. He was sure to let her know that he was with Klaus, as well as where they were heading. Hopefully she'd meet them there and talk Klaus out of this crazy plan.
