Heels clicking. Paper rustling. Hushed voices.
Jihyun could hear every word, every lie that they spouted about her.
The interns huddling in a corner, eyeing her with their eyes. Their lips curling into a smile as they made a ridiculous assumption about her.
Her assistant wasn't one of them, thankfully.
The 26-year-old respected the 22-year-old and her work. She also was one of the people that Jihyun had her full respect and trust in, she was not about to betray that for some... workplace drama.
Jihyun scoffed as she walked out of Jinho's office to see the group of girls glancing at her.
"Can I help you?" She asked, her tone laced with annoyance and displeasure.
"We were just wondering if Jungkook did anything to help you... you know, get ahead."
"Excuse me?"
"Paid off someone? I mean he is a millionaire, what a couple hundred-thousand." Another snickered, flipping her dyed ashy brown hair behind her blouse that had a few buttons undone on top.
"Unlike you, who is thousands of dollars in student debt. I got a full-ride scholarship to Harvard at 14. My brother was 12 when I started University. How in the world, would he be able to help? You wanna answer me that princess?" Jihyun scoffed.
"You better watch your tone with me." She glared, the rest of the group stood beside her. Their arms crossed, trying to look threatening.
"Oh, really? What are you going to do?"
"Jinho is going to listen to everything I say, the man your boss and I think girlfriend trumps partner." She said snarkily. Jihyun laughed, her voice deepening a little to make herself quieter.
"Really now? Too bad he's not my boss anymore," She said with a smile before dropping it into a smirk. "I'm his."
Their eyes widened.
"Oh, and I swore you weren't the one bouncing on his dick when I caught him in the act yesterday," Jihyun spoke, her eyes turning to one of her friends. "I didn't know you had an open relationship. Hey, not judging. You do you, just don't involve me in it, or I will make your life a living hell."
"Have a nice day ladies." She scoffed, turning around and walking back to her office, her heels clicking with a proud smile on her face.

Jihyun smiled at Jinho who was sitting at the start of the large conference table. Today was a big day for the firm, as it was when their boss would be giving up 50% of his ownership of the firm.
Jihyun was informed that it would be her an hour beforehand but no one else knew that.
"As most of you know, today is the day where I give 50% to one of you so that I can spend more time with my parents without having the fear of the firm falling into pieces. This person has already been chosen and I have the paperwork right here." He said, his hands motioning to the file on the table that Jihyun had already signed.
"Please welcome, your new boss and my equal, Jeon Jihyun." The room was quiet. Jihyun laughed at that.
"Ooh... Jinho, I don't think they're too happy with that." Jihyun said with a smile on her face, spinning on the chair to scan all of their employee's faces.
Jinho looked at her with a smile on his face.
"Get used to having this bossy ass woman as your boss, she has the exact same privileges as I do, if not more. Respect her as you would to me-"
"With all due respect sir, she hasn't been a lawyer for long. She's too young and inexperienced, not to mention that she's a-"
"She's a what, Mr. Dan? A woman?" Jinho said, fed up with the men in his firm. "She has gotten 10 times the amount of cases that you've had in your 5 years of experience and has almost a 100% success rate while you are barley surpassing the minimum number that we expect. She's our best lawyer here and she has covered every aspect of the law, not just criminal justice. Now, is your concern that she's inexperienced or a woman?"
Jinho stared down the man and another spoke up, an intern who was in the room even though she wasn't supposed to be.
"Sir, she's a media meal. Are we sure that we want that to represent our company?"
"Are 'we' sure? No, Ms. Lieu, I'm sure. She's not just someone's sister. She's Jeon Jihyun, our best lawyer, as I've repeated over and over again. If there are questions about my judgement again, you will be fired. This isn't you question my judgment, it's you harassing your new boss for something some little. I can justify that. Anything else?" Jinho seethed. They all sat in silence before Jihyun gave him a smile, switching spots with him.
"There's going to be some changes around here, you better be prepared," Jihyun smirked, as she glanced at every glaring pair of eyes on her.

Jihyun went back to the home, calling Jungkook.
He answered with his face showing.
"Are you busy right now?" Jihyun asked with a smile on her face. She saw the phone shift and a bunch of voices greeting her.
"Hi!" The rest of the boys spoke making Jihyun smile, she greeted them before Jungkook got his phone back on his face.
"Are you guys eating breakfast or something?"
"Yeah, we're getting ready for rehearsals later."
"Ah... well, guess what?" Jihyun said. Jungkook's big doe eyes looked directly at her.
"I am now a 50% owner of my firm. I'm my own boss as of 10:24 am today." She heard cheers on the other side of the phone and laughed.
"Congratulations!" She heard, Namjoon's face on the screen.
"Thank you, Joonie." She saw the embarrassed face Namjoon pulled when she gave him the nickname, it made her laugh.
"Hey, isn't your birthday soon?"
"In like in a month, why?" Jihyun smiled at the man who remembered her birthday.
"We were wondering if you were going to do anything."
"Probably not. Birthdays... I don't really celebrate them."
"Oh," Namjoon spoke, sensing that birthdays weren't a good memory for her. He made a mental note to ask her about it later.
"Noonaaaa~ you have to celebrate them. Come on!"
"Bunny, who am I going to celebrate with? You guys will be on tour and Celine has her final midterm exam on that day."
"I don't know." He said, pouting as he thought. "Why don't you come to BBMA's with us?"
"BBMA's? Why would you guys be going to the BBMA's- are you guys nominated for an award?!" Jihyun asked.
"... Did we not tell you yet?!"
"No, you didn't tell me yet you assholes!" She said with a huge smile on her lips.
"Oh my goodness! BTS is going to the billboard music awards." She spoke in English.
"Noona, I don't know what you just said."
"Don't worry about it. Congratulations boys, you deserve it."
