"you didn't buy it." the voice said. "i did."

"ashton." luke sighed out, looking at the man who was already beginning to dab the stain in luke's top.

"listen i know. i'm sorry. it was your favorite. i wasn't watching where i was going." ashton muttered under his breath.

however luke wasn't worried about that. he was worried about ashton dabbing his shirt in public, having many students turn their head as they continued to walk.

"ashton." luke began again, before getting interrupted once more.

"i can buy you a new on-"

'ashton!" luke exclaimed, causing the man to drop the napkin that he was using to wipe luke's shirt. "first of all, you're making it worse and second of all, can we go somewhere.. not in the open?"

ashton stopped and stood up to his full height, looking around to see that luke had a point. "my apartment"

and so luke wordlessly followed him. it didn't make sense for him to even go, but at this moment he wasn't all mentally there.

**

"care to tell me what's on your mind?" ashton began, throwing his keys on to the island before hanging up his coat. he wasn't stupid. he didn't walk into luke on accident. he saw the perfect opportunity and walked right in to him, the boy was barely paying attention as if he were mindlessly walking.

ashton turned around and gestured for luke, which left the blonde boy a bit confused. "your shirt. i'm going to wash it." ashton said, causing luke to blush. "it's nothing that i haven't seen before, luke."

luke sighed as he pulled of his wet sweater, passing over to the older man. "michael is back" luke said, breaking his silence as he fiddled with his thumbs

"back? as in-"

"he transferred here." luke finished, causing ashton to scuff under his breath.

"so i'm guessing-"

"that calum is back to his manipulative ways, yes." luke finished.

"so that's why you were walking aimlessly, hm?"

"precisely." the blonde boy confirmed, looking down at his fingers. he felt so confused. could they make his life any worse? did they not grow up? it was college, he was so confused on how someone was so focused on getting revenge. luke told ashton everything, from calum torturing him to michael lying about their rendezvous in high school.

"maybe you should transfer rooms." ashton brought up, now walking in front of the smaller boy, resting both hands on either side of him.

"so late into the semester? won't happen, and if it does i need help to find a place. i'm not that close to home." luke muttered, looking down at the man's muscular arms.

"stay with me." ashton purred, raising an eyebrow as he surprised himself with the swiftness. he could house luke in his apartment, and thankfully he wasn't a professor so it wasn't breaking any rules. rules that ashton was now cognizant about.

"stay with you? are you mad? what about your job?" luke brought up. he was fighting against it now but he actually wouldn't mind living with ashton. he had a nice 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom apartment that was clean and decorated well. plus, the boy would get his own bathroom and room instead of having to use communal bathrooms, which he hated.

"i won't, i mean, i can't get in trouble. you're not my student, i'm just a doctor who works at the university's hospital." ashton shrugged, causing luke to hum in thought.

"okay."

**

it's been a couple hours since luke agreed to live with ashton. he had went back to his apartment, all with his favorite stain-free sweater, to start packing and to get ready for mateo's fashion show. he wasn't sure what mateo wanted from him, he did think he was very cute, but could it be possible that ashton was making a move on luke?

the young boy chuckled to himself as he sorted through his closet for an outfit. he found it funny how he was thinking about romance when there was a bigger issue at hand, that being his crazy roommate and ex-friend coming back to wreak havoc on his life.

luke sighed as he took off his clothes from the day and prepared to get into the shower. however, the young boy stopped in his tracks on his way once overheard his name in a conversation. luke quickly hid behind the shower curtain as two people walked in.

"did you know ashton works at the uni's hospital?" he heard the voice say, which sounded a lot like calum's voice.

"what's your point?" the other voice responded. luke had peaked out his head to now see it was both calum and michael.

"it would just be fun if something happened regarding both of them, for happensake. but i'm pretty sure luke is seeing some other guy, mateo. he's kind of popular." calum muttered to himself as he pried open his lip gloss tube.

"mateo? i think he approached me about some fashion show tonight, do you think luke will be there?" michael asked, watching his old boyfriend touch up his makeup.

the raven hair boy nodded before fluffing his hair and turning to michael. "of course, and we're going to go too." calum smirked, "now help me pick out an outfit before he comes."

luke watched the two usher out like roaches before letting out a sigh. he turned on the hot water and spent his time thinking about what he just witnessed. calum and michael were up to no good, and he needed to get out of his current rooming situation as soon as possible.

what luke didn't know was that he was not ready for tonight's activities.
