"calum?" luke said quite shakily. the blonde watched as calum's parents exchanged looks before moving to the side to give luke a clear view of calum. just like luke, he hasn't changed at all. he got more skinnier if anything, but he was dressed in a cream colored sweater dress paired with his nike air force and his lush raven hair pulled back with a matching headwrap.

"i think we should take a break, love. let's go find some food." calum's mother spoke to her husband, causing him to clear his throat. the couple nodded towards luke as a polite gesture before heading out the room to escape the earth-gripping tension.

calum looked at luke with his innocent eyes that even luke could fall for. the raven haired boy let out a deep sigh before smiling sheepishly. "i didn't know that you'd be my roommate, i guess we both failed to work on that contract in time." he said nervously, climbing up on his bed to sit.

luke didn't know how to feel. he hated calum, he hated what calum did to him, to ashton, to them. but, he hated what he did to calum, he hated sleeping with michael, he hated everything, he was just so confused. "i have questions, calum." luke began.

before luke could even carry on, calum interrupted. "listen, i know you want to switch rooms and everything but, can't we just.. see how this goes before anything?" calum issued, pouting a bit. luke hadn't even thought about switching rooms, he just thought maybe he could just.. ignore calum. but now that the thought was in his head, he saw a light at the end of the tunnel.

"it wasn't that. i have questions about what happened two years ago, calum." luke said, his voice almost cold. he wasn't in the mood to beat around the bush. they were both eighteen, they should be able to solve their differences through conversation.

"oh- right, okay. ask away." calum said, crossing his legs as he prompted upwards to show luke that he was attentive, something that luke wasn't used to— calum being.. attentive.

"why did you do what you did? i know this was two years ago but—i just want this closure, so we can move on." luke said softly. he missed calum, he missed his friend; he truly did. but if they were going to do this, they needed to mend everything.

"you cheated on him with my boyfriend, luke. i was angry, but i was also jealous." calum said carefully, causing luke to raise an eyebrow.

"jealous?" the blonde questioned, throwing his purse on his desk chair that was decorated with a cream faux fur blanket. he needed to get comfortable, and his shoulder was killing him from holding onto the purse.

"you had something-someone i couldn't have to myself, luke. i haven't been quite honest myself. i don't want to beat around the bush, like you said; but i was seeing ashton for a while whilst you were. i was seeing him even before you guys met at the club. eventually he had dropped me once he realized he had actual feelings for you but- i- i'm sorry." calum said softly, looking luke straight in the eye. he expected luke to be hurt, to yell, to cry, but all luke did was shrug.

"two years ago i would've been mad, but i'm over it, over him. let's just move on, we both did wrong. hopefully we can fix what we had." luke said with a sheepish smile, causing calum to raise an eyebrow in disbelief.

"yeah- i- of course!" he said, containing his giddiness as he hopped off of his bed. "wanna go out to grab some coffee? coffee alchemy isn't here anymore, so might as well find a new coffee shop while we're at it."

"you're right, there was a cute shop down the street- it was actually a bakery but i don't see what's so bad about their coffee." luke said, shrugging his shoulders as he grabbed his purse once again. he was almost happy about having calum back, but he would, of course, watch his back.

"what are you going to order?" luke asked, already having his order in his head. he was going to get a pumpkin spice latte with foam and coconut milk and one of the pumpkin shaped halloween cookies they had. halloween wasn't for another couple months, but luke loved fall- so he didn't care.

"maybe a french vanilla coffee, everything else seems to have nuts in it." calum shrugged, reminding luke of his horrible nut allergy.

"do you even carry your epipen anymore?" luke asked after they paid for their items and headed over to a table overlooking the sydney scene.

"of course i still carry it, you never know what can happen." calum shrugged, blowing his coffee before sipping it. "hm- that's funny." calum said, scrunching up his face.

"what's funn- oh my god." luke exclaimed. he hadn't anytime before calum was gasping for air. "help! someone please help!" luke screamed, quickly heading into calum's purse to grab the epipen. it was like luke's been here before, which he has been. that was how he and calum had became friends—by luke stabbing calum in the quad with an epipen. it was a story that luke had almost forgot about til now.

luke had stayed with calum as his breathing began to slowly come back, although calum was complaining about a sore throat and itchy skin. the two were advised to head the infirmary, but not until luke came to the bottom of why he had an allergic reaction.

"i just don't understand," he started to the manager, "he order a french vanilla coffee, why is there nuts in your french vanilla coffee?" luke asked politely but sternly, realizing by being assertive he could get the answers he had wanted.

"we switched his coffee on accident with someone who order a hazelnut coffee. we are terribly sorry and we do take responsibility." the manager said, causing luke to roll his eyes. he decided to let calum's family take action with whether they wanted to sue or not, luke just found them careless and stupid; and quite honestly their coffee wasn't even that good.

luke grabbed his items before heading outside. luckily calum's parents were nearby to bring him to the infirmary where luke was now heading to, might as well since he needed to find it anyways.

he found his way rather quickly before opening the heavy wooden door to enter inside. the infirmary was beautiful, ironically. it looked like something out of harry potter: everything was laced with mahogany wood, from the floor to the wall—it was a vampire's worse nightmare.

luke didn't hesitate to find calum's room before swinging the door open, "hey calum, they told me they mixed up your cof-"

"if you're interested in buying another epipen, i do have to warn you that they have raised in value and your insurance may or may not cover it, mr and mrs. hood." a familiar voice had said. luke scrunched his face a bit before the figure wearing a black button up tucked into matching black trousers turned around, showcasing a face he had thought he would never see again.

this time he didn't run away, this time he fainted.
