It was during festive season where to many is glorious and field with celebrations . During these times many are celebrating what they have achieved throughout the year and planning for the coming year. As it's life there are also others who are mourning for their lost. Others feeling discouraged to continue planning for the coming year. It's that season where academically many are also dropping out.
Moreover, it's common for those who wrote their matric's exams to be experiencing mixed emotions. This was the story of Ndivhudzannyi, especially based on what she had experienced three weeks before her exams, she was still traumatized. For the first time in her life she felt like she was being flooded and carried away by these strong storms and floods of doubt and she felt helpless. Her family was there for her but still it felt like there was still an empty space in her.
It came to pass that the new year's eve had arrived. She feared most for the arrival of the new year, because it meant one thing for her and others. Her father always said that " My daughter these matric results are going to change your attire life, so you have to work hard".
These formed part of her passion and enthusiasm towards her academics so that she can improve the standard of her life and family. Finally that day had arrived. It was a long night of prayer and anticipation in this family. It had been a week her mother being in prayer and fasting for her daughter's results, crying out for divine intervention. There's a system where one dials codes in order to receive results as sms. Ndivhudzannyi didn't do that she waited to receive hers at school. When she arrived at school teachers greeted them and offer speeches of congratulations and comfort for them preparing them for whatever might be the outcomes of their results. Although everyone had their own results to expect they were wondering what would be the results of their reigning top learner Ndivhudzannyi.
Teachers began to call the names as they give them statements of their results many were shouting for joy others were sad, those who were yet to be called shaking in fear and doubts. It is these moments where one mark or rather one percent can be appreciated than money, for it determines the next chapter of one's life.
When Ndivhudzannyi name was called, she felt so light and her heartbeat increased, she switched off from the reality and began to ask questions within her mind.
" What if I failed? Will it be my fault? What if it runs in my blood line that no one is meant for greatness? What if God didn't answer our prayers? What would others say if I failed? As she was walking towards the teacher she was having many questions of unbelief in her mind. When she arrived the teacher smiled and whispered "we are very proud of you my daughter". When she received her envelope she felt like she was suffocating running short of breath. When she opened it and saw her, results she screamed and fainted.
Immediately the teacher ran, and took her results and covered them. And other students came with water to revive her. And then she was taken by the teacher's car to her house. Many began to wonder what could be wrong with her results that made her to faint. This became the question of many around the village. Many later on went to her home not to check up with her health but being curious about her performance.
To those who never wished anything good to happen to this family the were rejoicing thinking that perhaps their wishes did indeed came to pass.
Many had labeled her to be full of pride and saying that she thinks she better than orher children. Now they were saying we shall see what becomes of her empty pride. Her only sin was to be dreamer. It was in those communities where many hated one because of being a hard worker and being good.
Her Mother being wise and knowing what kind of community it was, she never had anyone close enough to be called a friend, she kept some things between her and God.The reason of Ndivhudzannyi's faint was that the results were beyond what she anticipated. After that shock these two bible verses kept resounding in her mind;
" Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,"
Ephesians:3:20And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Romans:8:28Ndivhudzannyi had received extremely exciting news that she never expected. Just since two months ago she thought God had forsaken her. She thought all of her years trying to be a good girl and being a dreamer had betrayed her. However, the words which her grandmother taught her kept her strong through out this hard season and these were her grandmothers words
"Sometimes you will not be mistreated or hurt because you a bad person but simply because you are living in an evil society of evil people. For every good thing you try to achieve there's somebody who wants you dead"
Ndivhudzannyi had passed all her subjects, none was below 60 percent. From that day she never underestimated the power of prayer. And one of the biggest lesson she learnt was never to trust people with your all heart especially if their intentions of association are not clear.
Now her next move was to choose the university to futher her studies. When she grew up all she wanted to study was medicine but ever since the poisoning. She felt in love with her second choice career that she had applied for at the university of Venda. After sometimes considering it, going to the local university will save her from a lot of fanicial stresses because she will be closer to home and her parents.
By this time many who were her relatives, and had never seen them ever since she very young started to appear out of nowhere, some insisting to that the would be there to help with her tertiary education. From this she started embracing the saying " when days are dark friends are few" It's suprising why many relatives are appearing now it's because they have seen that now her future is clear.
Ndivhudzannyi started a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Microbiology at the university of Venda. At first she thought it was going to be very demanding financial because bursaries had not yet responded.
From what she have been through lately and seeing the plans of God prevailing avove all the plans she kept on trusting that God's plan about her life is still going to prosper.
