"This is so wonderful", she squeaked, from underneath piled up sweaters and clothes. Even if it is summer, the coldness here is assumable. Snowfall is quite rare.

"Until and unless you want to be on the bed with pneumonia, you should come back", I said as one of the rarity occurs; the snowfall. Well, summer is hot for the rest of India, as for these hill stations, it is cold 24X7.

"If I go to bed, I won't be able to enjoy this. Either ways, I have to be on bed. So I might as well enjoy and be on bed rather than sitting on the bed aimlessly... Aanchoo!!!", she sneezed. Her nose had turned to a shade of crimson from pink. The tinge crossed over her cheeks and her lower lip trembled; it was only out of her notice. She rubbed her nose as she looked up at me.

"See... You have caught cold.", I pointed out. She laid out her hands. I went to her. She climbed on my back as I spread her legs cross my bag and she put her hands around my neck.

"Woow... So romantic", she said smiling widely.

"Carrying a sick dying cow is anything but romantic", I sneered as I said that.

"You spoil every moment", she said as she picked up on my hair and took out her camera.

"And you spoil my mood. And my hair", I said pointing to my freshly-spoiled hair.

"Hey, listen, what would you do after I die?", she asked.

"Nothing. I will stay in bed for two days. Read my books. Get back to school", I answered.

"So you will miss me for two days?", she wiggled her brows at me.

"However, I have wasted a few days of my life with you, so... I might miss you for ten seconds.", I replied.

"Well well... Where do I stand in your cute girl list?", she asked again.

I needed time to think. Think. Think.

"Maybe 4th?", I answered, thinking this would make her angry or some sort of that thing.

"4th, huh? Not bad. So, I do stand in your cute girls list... It is better than no rank at all", she giggled.

All this time, I was unaware that we were being captured in the camera that she was holding.

"It won't be good if you catch a severe fever", I said handing out my scarf to her. She had nothing to cover her ears as the wind whizzed past.

She had her drama all along the path.

"The snow is getting deeper", she pointed out as I struggled to make my way out of the snow. I frowned at her statement. It was not a good sign.

"It might snow again", I replied.

"I can walk", she said as she bit the corner of her lips.

"Why couldn't you say before?", I said in sheer annoyance. Oww, my back.

I dropped her down as she walked ahead confidently.

"Despite the cold, you are pretty song", I marked as I saw her making her way out of the snow. She was pretty quick at it.

"This is because, I used to shove the snow every winters", she said, showing her teeth in full view and I just looked down.

"Before you get too serious, I would like to clear up that I was kidding", she said.

I knew she was joking. Her humorless humor was under my understanding.

"Is that a lake?", she asked as she pointed out to a spot which was ice-frozen.

"Yeah... Probably. Be careful there", I said as the wind started to pierced through the thick red Jacket that practically clung to the amount of sweaters and jackets underneath.

The lantern at the Woodhouse marked the end of our journey.

We went in the lighted house and switched on the heater.

"Hey... Keep your jacket away first", I scolded her as she jumped to the heater as soon as possible. I hung my jacket in the hanger and placed hers beside me.

She was awfully silent.

If she shot a question at me... That would be a question which would be impossible for me to answer.

"Hey", she called out.

Deadend.

"What about Riya?", she asked. I froze at my place. Yes, like the frozen ice.

"How do you know her?", I asked.

"Didi and I are best friends you know? If she broke up... She is not a fool not to question. Apparently, he said... It was neither didi nor him... It was Riya... Who is she?", she asked.

She loved her sister, unlike me. She wanted her sister's best, unlike me.

I sighed and breathed out through my nose..heavily.

The name that left scars on the soul of bhai, dad, mom and...me.

The tormentous name in our life.

I nodded my head sideways. The bandage was now open, the wounds were now exposed to the air.

"Why would you want to know?", I asked.

"Because... Before going I want to know everything about everyone in my life.. Because... That is what the last thing I can do.", she said opening the scarf.

"It is a long story", I said nodding sideways as I rubbed my neck.

"We have a long night", she said rubbing her hands some more.

"Would you say?", she asked.

"What if I can't?", I countered.

"I will ask you till you answer me", she answered.

"If I never answer the question?", I asked back.

"You will... Even if not now... Someday you will... Maybe holding my photo... Or holding my hand... You will say someday. Because, that is what I believe", she said closing her eyes.

I had nothing to argue back.

We had dreamt together... Of a better tomorrow with the gifts of a white future. But, she left. The future is now bleak.

"The sky we wanted to touch... Went out of our touch... Or we let it slide away... Because it didn't hold any more importance in our lives", I said, unknowingly.

"You shouldn't... Because if you do... You are letting go of a million stars, a beautiful moon, a sun and thousands of colors painting the sky... Which can't be painted by any other painter... But nature, itself.", she said her eyes blazing with fire I have never seen before. It fazed me... To a great length. Maybe, I will answer her question?

// Hear hertless with this... Maybe you will feel something... Well... It wasn't too beautiful, was it? Because... I was listening to random music... I didn't know what I was writing... Maybe I will edit it later? Drop down your reviews... 😊😊//
