Kookie pov

"BEEP, BEEP, BEEP!!!"

Jin hyung was imitating an alarm clock to wake me up, screaming in my ears. I moaned and turned away from him, pulling the covers over my head.

"Ugh, go away!"
I moaned at Seokjin, who hasn't given up, his voice has gone hoarse from shouting for a good 10 minutes.

"Not until you get up Kooks, its 8:15am idiot!"

Oh shoot!

"8:15?!"

I shouted and jumped out of bed to get ready.

*time skip to school because I'm lazy*

The tryouts for the Athletics championships is today! We need one more person for the gliding relay, all of a sudden I had an idea, of course! The kid I ran into yesterday, maybe he'll do it!

I greeted the candidates at the door until the hall was full, woah, a lot of people want to do it!

No sign of the boy turning up, I sighed and went to my friends, who started the tryouts. The whole thing passed and nobody really stood out to me, they were all alright I guess.

The last bell rang and everyone headed home, we turned onto the normal street and I caught sight of the guy with the silver wings.

"Hey! Wait up!"

I called out, he turned around and sighed.

"What?"

I approached him and asked him

"Why didn't you come to the tryouts? You said you would think about it."

He shrugged.

"I don't really like sports, I can't do much of it."

I was confused but people tell me this all the time.

"Im sure you would be great with practice, why don't you come-"

He cut me off mid sentence and his gaze changed.

"No, I'm serious. I CAN'T do sports!"

I noticed how his free arm crept behind his back and he started fiddling with something I couldn't see. What really creeped me out was the quiet sound of nails on metal, either he had metal feathers or I was missing something.

"What do you mean CAN'T?"

He seemed to regret what he said earlier and turned around to start walking again.

"I-I...."

He looked to have had a small eureka moment.

"I have a skin conditon that makes it flake off of my wings if I move too much, happy?"

I stood there shocked and a bit disappointed, before I could say anything else, he ran off and disappeared. I found it strange how when a normal person runs, their wings flap behind and propel them. When he runs, his rather weak looking wings stayed suspended in the same position. Something about him interested me.
