Chapter 17

The sudden appearance of Spartan without Amy sent Ty and Jack running to the Barn. They both tacked up and Ty grabbed Spartan hoping he would lead them back to where Amy was, he was hoping she was okay and Spartan just got spooked and ran back. As they approached a fork on the trail Spartan went for the left fork, neither Jack or Ty had been down this Trail before. Thankfully it was summer so wouldn't get dark till late but they'd already been out for an hour , Jack then shouted to Ty "Bears " pointing out to some trees that had Claw marks about 10ft up. They kept going and Spartan started to get Ansty trying to change course so Ty let him. Another 30 minutes and Ty saw something in amongst the tall grass, Spartan started to go faster so Ty let go of the rope and followed. Spartan stopped by the side of Amy, Ty jumped down and ran to her, Amy wasn't conscious but he checked her over and as far as he could tell there were no broken Bones, Jack came up to Tys side and Checked her as well. As they rolled her over she had a small cut to her forehead and a bruise. Jack got his water bottle out and sprinkled a little on her face which brought her around.
"What happened , how did you find me".
"Hey, Spartan came home without you, so we brought him back with us and he brought us to you, what happened to spook him".
"I heard something coming out the bushes then Spartan reared and I heard a wet thud then I must of fell off him".
Jack went over to look at Spartans front hooves and saw blood at the top part and on his legs.
"He definitely connected with I assume was a Bear, there's blood on his legs from the impact".
Jack followed the trail of blood then came back.
"That Bear didn't get far, he's dead just round the corner over there.".
Amy looked shocked that Spartan saved her "Thank you Spartan, your my hero, you'll get some extra mash and a treat tonight".
"Come on let's get you back, how are you feeling".
"Got a thumping headache and sore body".
They got Amy home eventually, Lou was worried sick as they'd been gone 3 hours, but when she saw them come round the corner after hearing them first she was relieved. Jack shouted
"LOU, call Dr Virani and ask if she could come and check Amy out, she fell off Spartan when he reared and killed a Bear".
Lou looked shocked but ran inside and phoned the Doctor.
Ty took Amy inside and gave her some painkillers after laying her on the Sofa.
Lou asked Ty what happened so he explained everything. Lou then went and sat with her, Georgie also came down to see how her Aunt was.
Dr Virani arrived and checked Amy over then said she was just bruised and to take painkillers for the headache, otherwise she was fine.
Ty went and ran a hot bath, but not hot enough to be uncomfortable or burn her, then helped her to the bathroom, Lou said she'd put Lyndy to bed, Ty was about to leave when Amy asked him to stay. Ty closed the door and helped her get in.
"Does that help".
"Yes it feels so nice, thank you Ty ".
"Amy, I'm so sorry for this afternoon, I've got to get over this money thing from my past thinking, please forgive me.".
"Okay Ty, but you definitely need to stop thinking that way, your going to be earning more money than you've ever had as a vet and seeing people with money when you see there horses ".
"That's exactly what Lou said ".
Ty gave Amy a passionate kiss then moved his hand under the water to give her some pleasure ,they continued what Ty started when they went to bed.

The next day ( Thursday) Amy and Ty came into the kitchen, both had an arm around each other and Lou was already preparing breakfast.
"I take it you two are okay now".
"Yes Lou were fine". Amy said.
Lou whispered In Amy's ear "I didn't hear you last night". Amy blushed elbowing her sister and laughing.
"Where's Lyndy ".
"She's still asleep Lou".
After breakfast Ty went off to work his shift until 3pm.
"Lou sorry to ask but can you have Lyndy for an hour, After falling off Spartan I want to get checked out if you know what I mean".
"Oh god Amy I forgot, yes definitely".
"Thank you ".
"Have you phoned in for an appointment ".
"I sent a text last night to Dr Virani and she told me to just turn up, so I thought 10am would be okay".
"Good job we know her well enough to be able to message her outside work hours isn't it ". Lou says.
"Yes it is although that's the first time I've had to do that".
"Well it is urgent Amy ".
"Yep it is, talking of which, I'd better get going. Wont be long Lou".
Amy set off for the medical clinic.
Doctor Virani took Amy through and asked her to get on the table for a Scan.
Amy had her fingers crossed that everything was going to be okay.
Then she heard the Thumping of a little heartbeat, Amy was shown the screen and there was her little nugget all safe and sound.
"Oh, thank god he/she is okay, I was really worried, I haven't told Ty yet, I will after the wedding, it's too early to tell yet isn't it".
"Yes Amy, 20 weeks, so not to long to wait".
"Thank you for seeing me so fast
Tricia it puts my mind at rest".
"Your welcome Amy, now stay off the horses".
Amy drove back to Heartland much happier than when she drove into Hudson.
When Lou saw the smile on Amys face as she walked in the door she knew everything was Okay and went over to Amy and gave her a hug. Lou was just as worried as Amy.
