Chapter 4 ~ Coronation

Your POV

"Who are you lass?" I heard a thick Scottish accent ask me. I turned around and saw nothing but something shiny. I walked towards it and found a hook on a chair. "Y/n, I'm Y/n. Who are you?" I asked the strange before noticing the hook disappeared. "I'm H-"

"Y/N! Wake up!" My mother cut off my dream making me shake. I sighed remembering the day and quickly got dressed. I wore my blue dress Lumiere made me and grabbed a curling iron and quickly curled my hair and put a blue headband in it. I put on blue heels and pink lip stick before walking out of my room and linked my arm with Ben's.

"You ready?" I asked him as we stepped out of the castle and towards the carriages. "As I'll ever be." We separated and he got inside a carriage with Mal who looked beautiful and I got inside a carriage with my parents. "As we arrived we awaited Ben and Mal at the front steps. "I told Ben this wasn't going to be easy." My father said as Mal and Ben arrived. "You also taught me that a king has to believe in himself. Even when it isn't easy." Ben and I said.

"I did? I... how very wise of me." I laughed at my father before my mother spoke. "Ben, we are very proud of you. You keep listening to your heart." Mother said making me smile. "You'll make a fine king." Dad said. "Thanks dad." Ben said before turning to me. "Good luck." I said before we all went into the ball. Fairy Godmother, Father, Mother and I were standing before Ben as he was kneeled down on the ground taking an oath.

"Do you solemnly swear to govern the peoples of Auradon with justice and mercy as long as you shall reign?" Fairy Godmother said and Ben agreed. I looked at Mal and she looked nervous, I then saw Carlos, Evie and Jay on the balcony looking even more nervous. I squinted and they caught my gaze making them become pale.

"Then it is my honor and my joy to bless our new king." Fairy Godmother said before the wand was taken out of her grasp and a big bolt of light was sent to the sky. "Jane!" I yelled. "Child, what are you doing?!" Her mother asked frantically. "If you won't make me beautiful, I'll do it myself! Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo!" Mal then quickly took the wand form her grasp.

"Mal, give me the wand." Ben and I said in unison before the three others. And down behind Mal. "Stand back." Mal demanded. "It's okay." Ben said walking forward. "Ben, I said stand back." She shouted making Audrey scoff knowing this would happen. "Let's go." Carlos said. "Revenge time." Jay reminded her.

"You really want to do this?" Ben asked. "We have no choice, Ben! Our parents..." "Your parents made their choice. Now you make yours." I said making her look at me with pleading eyes. "I think I want to be good." She breathed out making me smile. "You are good." I said to her before she's snapped. "How do you know that?!"

"Because... Because I'm listening to my heart." Ben said making Mal give a small smile. "I want to listen to my heart, too. And my heart is telling me that we are not our parents. I mean, stealing things doesn't make you happy. Tourney and victory pizza with the team makes you happy." She says to Jay making him smile.

"And you, hanging out with y/n and scratching dude's belly makes you happy. Who would've thought?" She said to Carlos making him stare at me and smile. "And Evie... You do not have to play dumb to get a guy. You are so smart. And I don't want to take over the world with evil. It doesn't make me happy. I want to go to school. And be with Ben. Because Ben makes me really happy. Us being friends makes me really happy. Not destroying things. I choose good, you guys." She held out her hand and for a moment it was silent.

"I choose good, too." Jay said and soon Evie agreed as well. "So, just to be clear, we don't have to be worried about how really mad our parents will be? Because they're gonna be really, really mad." Carlos said making us all laugh. "Your parents can't reach you here." I said making him smile and join in.

All of a sudden there was a cackle of laughter. "I'm back!" Maleficent sang making my eyes widen. "It can't be. Go away, mother." Mal pleaded making her mother laugh. "She's funny. Oh! I'm so... you're very funny. Here. Wand me. Chop chop. No!" She yelled as Mal threw the wand towards Fairy Godmother. "Bibbidi-bobbidi..." "Boo." Maleficent said and then we were all frozen.

I couldn't see or hear anything and then just like that we were all unfrozen and Ben roared loudly and ran at where Maleficent once stood. "Okay, okay! Oh! We kinda got this all wrapped up here." Mal assured him making me laugh and join them. "Next time, I rescue you, okay?" Ben joked making us all laugh. "Yeah. Let's not let there be a next time, okay? I will be right back." Mal said before walking towards Jane and Fairy Godmother.

"So? How's being good feel." I asked Evie, Jay and Carlos. They all smiled and Evie hugged me. "Thank you." She said making me smile and hug her back before hugging Jay and Carlos. "Well, let's get this party started!" Jay shouted before Ben and Mal joined our huddle. "Ohayohay, hey!"
