She thought I would judge her
thought I would hate her
thought I would belittle her.I held onto her hand like it belonged to me because it did, she belonged to me.
Her tear filled eyes met mine and I didn't , couldn't see past the emptiness.
Her eyes were empty, just like her words .
Her promises were broken just like my trust.
Her presence flowed freely yet not really there.And I knew, she knew, they all knew she was never here.
She couldn't stay and I couldn't see her leave.
She was the tragedy that I desperately held on to because it was my only lifeline.
She was my lifeline.
