Stuart was in the kitchen making himself a sandwich.
He was craving smores earlier but he wasn't allowed around fire anymore.
And it just felt unnatural to make them in the microwave.
Who would do that?
He put the two pieces of bread together, making his peanut butter and jelly sandwich complete.
He placed it on a paper towel and moved to the table, where he ate his sandwich peacefully.
The sweetness was more apparent then the saltiness of the peanut butter.
He liked it that way.
He looked out the window, watching the trees.
The sunset was not visible, due to the fence in the backyard.
It was a perfect dim sky.
He felt too tired to smile at it however.
He could see it tomorrow.
He heard footsteps enter into the kitchen.
His body automatically tensed up.
He exhaled.
Annoyed.
He footsteps stopped.
Then started again.
Then stopped.
Stuart didn't want to turn around.
He already knew who it was.
They were stalling.
"Hey...Stu?"
No response.
Stuart went for another bite.
"Can I talk to you for a minute?"
Fuck off. He wanted to say.
But he continued to chew.
As if nothing was there.
David sat down at a chair almost across from him.
He looked down.
Stuart hated how he wouldn't take a hint.
"About me and your mom, I didn't think about-"
"Don't." Stuart swallowed.
Silence.
"What?" David said.
Stuart didn't want to look at him.
He didn't want to respond.
He just wanted him to leave.
But to get his point across...
He turned his head.
Looked at him dead in the eyes.
"Nothing can defend you. Just say it. Just say it already that you hate me. Hate what I am. I can't ever seem to be enough for you. I have never said it, but I know things."
David sighed.
Stuart stood up quickly.
His chair making a loud sound as it slid across the floor.
"Do you think I'm stupid?" His voice strained.
"N-no, why would you-"
"Because you really think you can say shit about me without me noticing. Your coworkers look at me like I'm an abomination. You- I-" Stuart yelled.
