The calm face
The cheerful grin
The haughty, light laughter
The smug expression
The timid glance
The friendly extent of a hand. Those were descriptions one might have from a stand point going into Primp's Magic School. Every kid and their Mother might as well have gone there once. Of course,
Primp really didn't have a lot of children
There were a couple of students that went there. You had their current star students;
One being a pink haired princess like figure named Raffina. She wasn't always a magic user, but she became quite gifted after a magic pouch did the trick to increase magic to sufficient levels. Her refined appearance and even status caused people to even call her "Raffine".
The second being a bowl cutted boy namee Klug. Unlike Raffina, Klug was a normal magic user. Amitie once mentioned that Klug too increases his magic with the spell book he always carries. It's probably very very heavy. Unlike Raffina, Klug isn't met with such approval, being called a Four Eyes and Goody Two Shoes.
Really, everyone knows that.
The kids kinda care about me, and I kinda care about them. It's a basic scenario of ignorance and trying to get by. I don't need to learn how to make friends or enemies. I don't really want to, lest it gets bad.
Before I'm called a villain here, I should clarify. I don't hate this kids. They're decent people. Amities funny, Raffina is admirable, and Sig is something. I just think it's best that I don't chance how I feel about anyone.
Per the norm, I take a calm seat outside. School Classes are divided in to Two Groups. Group one is for Morning and Group two is afternoon. As an afternoon kid, I personally just wait outside, and wait for Class one to finish up.
One classmate of mine is Lidelle. She's the calmest girl I've ever met. She's so timid, it's kind of worrying. Sometimes we sit together and talk. Lidelle usually packs the waters and I pack the sandwiches.
Since there's a break in between classes for eating, I take the opportunity to eat with Lidelle. Since she's not one for too much conversation, I can handle her just fine.
Today she's absent though. So I sit alone while I wait for the bell to ring. If I remember correctly, there's some sitting usuals. Amitie sits closest to Sig, Klug sits closest to the school door, TaruTaru sits near Raffina. Etc etc. the positioning is usually different each day...but it's the same idea.
Despite the bell not ringing, I saw two people walking towards me. One of those two would be Amitie. She's easily identifiable by her Puyo hat. Rumour also had it that she had a crush on someone. I don't know. Maybe Sig. "Hiya, Anata! Whatcha doing on this fine day!" She asked, her quirky voice sticking out.
The other would be, of course, Sig. He can be identified by his heterochromatic eyes and strange antenna. Most of the girls here are really nice to him, for some reason. I get it, I guess. Sig's kind of cute and iconic. Sure beats Klug. "Hello, Anata. Same as Amitie I guess."
I shrug, biting into my sandwich. They're both from the morning class, so I don't see them much. I could always go for going out with the two maybe. "I dunno. I was going to go to class after lunch. What about you guys."
The two looked at each other, then Amitie pointed out "School isn't in session right now. We were going to talk somewhere but we saw you here and decided to talk!" She laughed, the energy clearly heard in her voice.
Huh. Oh well. That's why the bell wasn't ringing. I sighed in disappointment. "Since that's the case, perhaps I could come with.?" I asked, having nothing else to do.
Sig shrugged. I never really realized that he did. The movements subtle. "I guess. We really were just going to eat somewhere. Seeing as you alright brou-"
I immediately stand up. The out of school setting and the fact that these are people that are not completely the worst make me feel more comfortable. Plus, I had nothing else to do. "No-no, I'll come. I can watch you guys eat."
The two friends just looked at each other. "Oh Kay!" Amitie finally said. "You can come with us, Anata! We promise to share some foods so that you're not starving, aight?"
The three of us began walking somewhere. It wasn't the most calm place ever, but it was decent enough. Amitie sets down a polka dotted blanket somewhat messily, and Sig went to get a snack basket.
"I'm gonna tell you something, Anata, but you got to promise that you won't tell a soul. Not even Sig!" Amitie whispered, her giggling somewhat audible. I don't think she gets what a whisper means, but I nodded anyway. "Alright. I actually really like Sig. like I..I think I love him." Amitie whispered again, more seriously to hold back the giggles.
But, honestly, I suspected as such. It didn't really bother me much since I'm not really into Sig. "Why? Can't you go for someone like that big guy who sits in front of Raffina? He's certainly more nice than Sig's flat ground zero personality."
Amitie shook her head violently. "Now why the heck would I do that? Unlike Sig, I don't really talk much to TaruTaru. I don't think he'd even allow it since he's got the biggest crush on Raffina. It almost outweigh's Sig's Buggy Love." She explained, now fidgeting. "Honestly it's a wonder that you're trying to stop me. Are you also into Sig, Anata?"
"...." I keep quiet. I don't really know. Sig's just the boy in the other class that's tolerable. He's not a full out nerd or a total softy. He's..actually kinda like me. Maybe I do like him. But I'm not petty enough to force Amitie to not for my own gain.
"Amitie, I feel like it's not time for you to confess. A picnic with someone else there is basically just a recipe for something bad.." I try to explain. "...that and...I think I want to set my own view in perspective. I don't even know if I like Sig or not as a friend."
Amitie looked somewhat gloomy, but she appeared to understand. "Alright Anata..I'll let you go first. I'll even set up somewhere that you can be sure to at least become Sig's friend!" She grinned, quickly picking up the blanket. Then she ran
I tumble off, and ran after her, but she simply said "Pick up some of the flowers and leave a trail behind!"
So I did. I don't really get where this is going, but it's Amitie's word, I guess. The trail eventually went out of town, past a cake shop, and eventually, to a lone garden. It was also, surprisingly, somewhat warm. "It's a butterfly garden!" Amitie announced. "Sig loves bugs, so if you can tolerate his gushing, I think you'd make a good friend for him!"
Then, she ran off. I wonder if she was getting Sig.
