A Mistake

This chapter takes place the same time as the "An Overnight Trip" chapter.

(Audrey's pov)

(Sunday morning)

I was sitting on my bed in my room when I got a text from Ken. 

Ken: Morning love. 

Audrey/Jessica: Morning :) Good thing you texted. I have something for you.

Ken: Oh yeah? Well I can come pick it up later. I'll meet you at our spot. ;)

Audrey/Jessica: Actually I was thinking that I could come and bring it myself.

Ken: Oh well I'm not gonna be home. So I'll just meet you and get it.

Audrey/Jessica: Oh okay.

I jumped up off my bed and went into the kitchen where Bridget was. 

"Hey Bridget, you think I can borrow the car?" I asked.

"Where are you going?" Bridget questioned raising an eyebrow.

"I have to bring that guy, Ken that I'm "dating" something." I answered doing air quotes.

"Oh." Bridget said with a smile. "Yeah sure." She tossed me the keys. "But don't be gone too long.

"I promise I won't." I assured her. 

I ran back to my room and grabbed the box. Then went outside to the car. 

(A few minutes)

I reached Ken's house. 

"That's weird. I thought he said he wasn't gonna be here." I said to myself. I shrugged it off and got out of the car.

I walked up to the front door. I knocked on the door and waited, but there wasn't an answer. I was just gonna leave the package at the door, but then I turned the knob a little and it was unlocked. So I opened it and stepped in holding the box.

"Hello?" I called out. "Ken are you here?" 

I walked over the stairs and started walking up. As I was reaching the top there was loud music coming from Ken's room. I knocked on the door, but there was still no answer. 

"Okay I'm coming in!" I called to him. 

When I opened the door Ken was on the bed, but he wasn't alone. There was another girl with him and they were kissing.

"K-Ken. Ken!" The girl yelled and pointed over to me.

Ken looked behind him at me. I felt the tears filling in my eyes. Before anything could happen I quickly turned around and ran down the stairs and out the door.

"Jessica!" I heard him calling from behind, but I ignored him. 

I reached the car and was about to open it, but he caught up.

"Jessica wait I can explain." He tried saying.

"What is there to explain?!" I asked harshly. "You are cheating on me! Something you promised you would never do!"

"I know, but I didn't mean for it to happen." He was trying to explain.

"You know after what happened with my last boyfriend. I thought you would be different, but clearly you're not." I told him, then opened the car door and was about to get in.

"I am. I am different." Ken replied. "Look I told you that was the old me. And she came onto me. I tried to stop her."

"Then how come you two were together when I got up there? If you were actually trying to stop her you wouldn't be making out with her!" I argued.

"I know, but..." He was going to responded.

"I don't have time for your excuses. I just need some time by myself. Without you. And here." I threw the box at him. "Hope you like it."

Then I got into the car and shut the door. Then I pulled out. As I was driving away I saw him standing there watching me leave. 

When I was far enough away tears began rolling down my cheeks. Then when I reached the house I sat in the car and started crying. I put my head on the steering wheel. 

(A few minutes later)

I walked inside and everyone looked over at me. 

"Audrey, honey are you alright?" One girl asked. 

I had tear stained, red eyes. "N-no." I muttered out.

The girl got up and tightly hugged me. I noticed Bridget walked in and was looking at me. 

After me and the girl let go I walked up to Bridget.

"You good?" Bridget checked. 

"Yes. I'm done with that boy. And I'm ready to focus on getting my revenge." I answered and told her.

Bridget's confused and a little concerned look turned into a smirk. "Good."

(No one's pov)

(At Ken's)

"Dude stop freaking out." Ken's friend was trying to calm him.

"No dude!" Ken yelled. "I cheated on her. Something her last boyfriend did. And something I promised her I wouldn't do." 

"Look everything is going to be fine. You just need to give her some time. The when the time is right you talk to her and work everything out." His friend was telling him. "Don't worry."

"I really hope you're right man. I don't want to lose her." Ken responded and looked out his window. 

(At the hideout)

Audrey was sitting in her room looking at a picture. The picture was of her and Ben at a park. They were sitting on a blanket and Audrey was sitting in between Ben's legs and Ben was kissing her cheek. 

"I miss you, Ben." Audrey said softly to herself. 

"Audrey, you coming?" Bridget called to her from the other room.

Audrey looked at the picture one last time, then hid it and walked out of her room.
