"Duets"

---

*Maki's POV*

I woke lying down on the sofa. Why was I sleeping there? I then recalled the events that had happened the previous day. So it was a dream! I looked around my mansion to check the time. I spotted a digital clock in the corner if my eye and I started the panic.

"Wah?! It's almost 9am already?!" I shouted, "I need to hurry now."

---

I rested my palms on my knees, gasping for breath. I knocked on the door, still panting, before opening it.

"Care to explain why you're so late?" The teacher asked.

"I missed my alarm.." I answered.

"Make sure it doesn't happen again," He said.

I could hear the whispers going around, probably along the lines of 'Wow! She's late for once! What a surprise!'.

---

All lessons had ended, I was packing up my things until I heard a knock on the door. They're probably just looking for someone.

"Nishikino-san! Someone's looking for you!"

Hm? Who could it be? I turned around to see Nico, at the door, holding onto the handle. I went over to her to ask what was going on.

"What do you mean? We have to write a song  don't we? Practice is cancelled today because of the rain." She said, sounding a bit mean. So it wasn't a dream!

"O-Oh yeah.. Sorry.." I stuttered as I looked away from her, scared of Nico hating me more. I think I caught a glimpse of sadness and pain on her face but it could just be my imagination.

We walked over to the entrance of the school until Nico realised something.

"I forgot to bring my umbrella. Share yours with me," Nico said as she turned to face me.

"E-Eh?! Well fine.. It's not like I could leave you in the rain.." I blushed. I saw her smile at me. A smile that I haven't seen in forever, one that I wished last forever, one that I will protect, no matter what.

"Thank you Maki-chan!" She exclaimed while she leaned and clung to my elbow. Wait did she just say 'chan'? Well.. I guess it's fine being called that..

We walked over to my house, or rather, mansion in the pouring rain.

---

*Nico's POV*

Yes! My plan worked! Now I get to spend time with Maki-chan. I'm not sure when I started calling her that but it sounds cute so I'll stick with it.

"We're here," I heard her say. I forgot how gigantic her house was until I actually saw it.

"Make yourself at home," She smiled. Her smile is precious and absolutely gorgeous. I then thought of her words a bit and wanted to cry.

"Anything but home..." I whispered, hoping she didn't hear. Unfortunately, she did.

"Is something wrong Nico-chan?" She asked worriedly. Wait, she just used 'chan' didn't she? I mean, it's cute but that's surprising coming from her.

"No, it's nothing. I'm fine," I said, though she probably didn't believe me because her face said otherwise.

We took off our shoes and headed to her room.

"So what topic should we do for our song?" Maki asked.

"How about a love song?" I suggested. Hopefully she agrees-

"Sure, why not." She answered immediately. My heart was pounding. We were actually going to write one.

"But how do we write one? I don't have any experience in love," She asked.

"How about two female tsunderes in love but too shy to admit?" I said, "I already have an idea for the title and theme. The title could be like 'Zurui Yo Magnetic Today'."

Hopefully she won't realise, she doesn't consider herself as a tsundere anyways

"Sounds nice. Maybe there could be like some sort of conversation? Well, not an actual conversation, if you get what I mean," Maki added.

I didn't really get it but I'm sure she'll explain while we write the lyrics.
