"It's so boringgggg! Why does it always have to rainnn?" Nico groaned.
"Don't blame it on the weather," Umi said.

There was an awkward 3 minutes of silence in the clubroom, with everyone doing their own thing, before Nozomi spoke up.
"Hey Nicocchi. Your birthday is coming soon right? July 22nd?"
"Yeah. Why?" Nico answered as she continued scrolling through her phone.
Nozomi then glanced at me, as if it were a cue to say something. Out of instinct, I asked Nico a question.
"Nico? Is there anything you want for a present?" I questioned, clearly blushing.
"Anything is fine." She answered.
"Then meet me after school on that day." I replied as I walked out the room, holding out my umbrella.
"Looks like she's off. Let's get going too," Eli said.

*Nico's POV*
Jeez.. What could Maki want to do that's so important?
"Hello." I heard a voice behind me and flinched, "Relax. It's just me."
It was Maki.
"So, what do you want?" I tried faking my bitterness.
"My present for you is not in a physical form." She stated and smiled, "Let's go on a date."
"E-Eh? R-Right now?" I stuttered.
"Of course."

I was dragged around town by Maki to many different places. From restaurants to theme parks, it was super fun.
Right now, it's evening and we're taking a stroll in a park.
"Hey Nico? I got you a present.." Maki blushed.
"Fufu~ Who knew you could be this caring~" I teased. Instead of replying like our usual back and forth argument, she kept quiet and hid her face as she held out a neatly-wrapped box.
I opened it and saw two bracelets. She took one, wore it and gave me a signal to wear the other.
They were matching bracelets.
"Happy birthday Nico." Maki said.
I smiled as I grabbed her hand and continued walking down the pavements.
