Chapter Six: Don't Mess With Me

I am roughly pulled away from Sterling and he reluctantly lets me go.

"What the hell is going in here?" Asher demands, holding me in his grip. He holds me like a child with a precious toy. I didn't peg him as the possessive type but I don't like where this seems to be heading.

"She was just showing me some moves. No, need to get your panties in a twist," is Sterling's reply. Sterling isn't threatened by Asher and it's clear by his demeanor and his honesty. He isn't bothering to make up a lie to save himself.

"Stay away from her, she is our girl," Asher warns. I whip my head around to stare at him. I am shocked at his words but am quick to speak up.

"One, I am nobody's girl and two, I will hang out with whoever I please." I pull away from Asher. I walk back to Sterling and again hold out a hand and help him up properly this time. He pretends to dust off his jeans and then looks up at me. I don't pay any attention to anyone but him, the bell is the only thing to bring me out of my trance.

I go through my classes wondering why Sterling would kiss me like that, only to write it off as petty boy competition. He had only done it to piss of the Mitchell boys. It isn't until lunch that I see those bad boys again. I am in line getting my lunch when I feel hands at my waist. I look over to see Sterling smirking at someone. I follow his eyes to see the Mitchell brothers glaring angrily at us. I smirk up at Sterling and my hand flies down to grip his groin painfully.

"Ow, ah!" I finally have his attention and that of the male lunch attendant waiting to hand me my lunch.

"Let's get this straight, Sterling. I am not some tool to be used to piss off Asher and Cross and I will not stand by while you do so either. If you have no interest in anything other than making them mad then f*ck off because I have a life to live away from the drama that you seem to like to create." He nods around the pain and I release his johnson from my angry grip.

I take my lunch with a smile and pay for it. I walk over to my table away from any stupid boys.

"So, cheer practice is at 2 pm on Thursday ladies during gym. I have gotten permission from the coach and we are going to practice for this weeks game against North Lake High," I announce once everyone is seated. Avery is still starry eyed about the whole thing and I can't blame her because it is pretty fun. The girls begin chattering amongst themselves and I look around the busy lunchroom. I look at the football players goofing off together at their table nearest to the lunch lines. Lazy boys.

I look to the different tables from the nerds to the goths to the preppy girls aka 'sluts' that are sitting close to the football players and trying to catch their eye. My eyes land on the table nearest the exit where Sterling and his boys like to sit. I see a girl who resembles Damian sitting there talking to Sterling but it's Alessander that catches my eye.

He is staring at me pretty intently and I tilt my head to the side and give him a curious look. He stands and says something to his friends and I think he is leaving but he instead walks over to my table and drags an empty seat towards us. The loud scaping of the chair seems to quiet the entire room as he pulls it next to me. He sits with the back facing me and he props his crossed arms on the back of the chair.

"How may I help you, Alessander?" I say to him, sweetly.

"It's Les. I saw what you did to Sterling earlier," He says with a blank expression.

"Oh my gosh, please don't hurt her! She was just defending herself!" I turn to hush Sasha because the sophomore has only heard the rumors about Alessander and he is put off as a psychotic bad boy who would even hit a girl if she looks at him wrong but I doubt that is true.
