The bright Australian sun was starting to get on my nerves. The constant glare as I walked along the street was really annoying, since I’m trying to write. It isn’t really working anyways, the lyrics weren’t flowing the way they usually do.

Why is Luke confusing me so much?

The first day of school was a breeze; though the news of my new arrival spread like wildfire, the people were really friendly. Apparently associating yourself with the hottest guys in school gave yourself a high standing in the social pyramid.

Now, which way was Calum’s house again? Great, I’m one hundred percent sure I’m lost. Super rad.

Suddenly, I hear the faint hum of a skateboard behind me. Thankfully, It’s Calum. Guess I’m not lost after all.

“Finding my house alright?”

“I thought I was actually lost for a second, but I guess not.”

“Follow me.”

He took off on his skateboard, leading me to a pretty nice place. Calum tried opening the door, but it was locked.

“Shit.” he mutters. He obviously forgot his key.

“We’ll have to go through the garage then.” He says quite annoyed.

He leads me through a gate leading to the backyard of the house. There, he swiftly pulls the garage door up, revealing a setup of instruments.

 “This where your band practices?”

“Yeah, but only when Ashton’s house is occupied.”

He smiles. I smile. It’s awkward.

We enter, him opening the door for me into his household. He leads me upstairs, and we enter his room.

I’m there for a couple of hours, and we narrow down what we’re doing for our project. Even though we did sort through our ideas quite quickly, he wouldn’t leave his phone for five seconds. *A/N: of summer! HA sorry, had to do it… now keep reading*

 “Who ya textin’?”

 “Huh? Oh, Luke.”

“Is he helping us with our ideas or something?” I tried to ask as sweetly as possible, but it probably came out annoyed which to be honest I was.

“No, he’s actually asking about you.”

“Was I supposed to know that?” I asked, blushing.

“Whoops, I guess not. Well, looks like Luke’s going to try and pummel me tomorrow at school.”

 “Fun. Friendship at it’s best.”

He chuckled. “So, you are coming to our gig this weekend right? It’d mean a lot to Luke if you came… I mean we’d all like you there, you’re a pretty cool chick.”

“Yeah, I’m coming. I actually had plans with two of my new friends Lyla and Jenni to go see a band, and I assume it was you guys.”

“Aha, I guess it all works out then.”

 “Yeah, it does.”

I hear a door opening and closing, along with a young girls voice.

“Calum, Mom, anyone here? I’m home.”

Calum ignored her, and a minute later I heard a knock on Calum’s door, followed by a really pretty girl who looked a lot like Calum coming in.

“Hey Cal,” she then noticed me. “Who’s this?”

“Aimee. She’s my science partner for this project we’re doing.”

“Hi Aimee, my name’s Mali Koa, but you can call em Mali..” She gave me a warm, genuine smile.

“Hi.” I gave her an almost exact smile back. It wouldn’t hurt to be on Calum’s sisters good side.

“Well, I’ll leave you two alone then.”

“Actually, I was just leaving. It was nice to meet you Mali,” I turned to Calum. “I’ll see you in science tomorrow.”

This was going to be a long week.

As I was walking down the stairs, I heard Calum and Mali’s conversation.

“So, are you going to ask her out?”

 “We’re just friends!”

“Mmmmhhhhmmmmm.” I could just picture her raising one of her eyebrows while saying that.

I left, taking an hour to walk home. Within the first ten minutes of my walk, I texted Luke out of sheer boredom.

Heard you were asking Calum about me.

And thirty seconds later, my phone beeped.

A/N: Aight, another chapter done. This one was kind of short, but I'm feeling kind of sassy today so you're going to have to get over it. To the side we have Mali Koa + Calum so enjoy! They're so freaking adorable... Sibling OTP (read that like when college guys say their frat house names).  Like, comment, and add to your library to read more. Don't forget I luff you <3
