One week later Akaashi was slipping on shoes, staring at his phone as he pulled a thick jacket over his crisp shirt. Rintaro looked over, sipping a mug off coffee.
"Woah. Finally got a date, Keji?"
Akaashi hardly payed him any heed.
"I'm going to the Shiratorizawa concert with orchestra, remember?" Akaashi knew he looked smart, but with the jacket it looked more casual. He just didn't want to look under-dressed as he walked into one of the best university concert halls in Japan.
"Yeah, yeah, I remember." Rintaro chuckled into his drink. "Don't worry, I know you could never get a date."
But Akaashi wasn't paying attention.
"I'll be back late," he simply said, locking the door behind him.

Akaashi looked at his phone as the train shot through the city. Ugh, I should have just taken Kuroo's offer when he asked if I wanted him to drive. The train was delayed. He thumbed through his contacts and typed out a message.
[Me:] Sorry, I'll be about 5 mins late.
Akaashi put his earbuds in and lent back into his seat, but looked down as his phone buzzed less than a minute later.
[Bokuto:] Np! We can wait! :D

Bokuto bit his thumbnail anxiously, his foot tapping on the ground. Akaashi was hardly ever late. Was there a problem? What if he just didn't want to come?
"Hey, you need to chill out bro." He glanced over at Kuroo, who was turning the collar of his stylish coat up. It was cold outside, but Bokuto wasn't feeling it. He was only wearing his black jeans with a slightly nicer shirt. Komi had tried to insist he brought a jacket for the evening, but he had ran out the door before it could happen.
"Akaashi said he would be a bit late," Bokuto said, glancing down at his phone again, hoping he had replied. He hadn't. Kuroo laughed, looking over his shoulder at the phone.
"You got his number? Smooth, dude! He won't let me give him mine..."
"Really?" Bokuto remembered how they had been talking in their music room, and Akaashi had looked sad when Bokuto had to leave. So Bokuto had suggested that they exchange numbers. He remembered him nodding, looking a little surprised; his thick eyelashes making the blue of his eyes stand out as he blinked.
Kuroo smirked but shrugged.
"Ah well, don't fret about it. It's not like everyone's here yet. We haven't got Tsukki with Yamagucci and Yacchi-san yet, or Suga." Hinata and Kageyama were still panting, they had raced each other to get here, but Kageyama looked up.
"Is Suga-san bringing his boyfriend?" he asked, and Kenma bopped him on the head with his phone.
"Daichi-san has a name." Kageyama apologised and looked up expectantly at Kuroo, who chuckled.
"Yes, I think he said he would. Ah, speak of the devil!"
Suga walked up with a smile, his arm tucked inside Daichi's, who waved. Kuroo patted him on the shoulder. "Sawamura! Looking ravishing~" he was wearing a black shirt under a tight, thin jacket that complimented his build. Daichi smirked rolled his eyes, shrugging.
"Suga said I should wear it." Kuroo gave Suga a surprised and impressed look, a cheeky grin spreading across his face.
"Did he now?" he asked, and Suga's cheeks went a little red.
