"Romulus?" Patton looked at Janus in confusion, but then stared back at the person who looked like Roman.
"Yes...it's hard to explain-"
"No it's not, Severus Snake," Roman- Romulus said, smirking. He wore a black prince costume with a blood red sash, and gold trim. His eyes were red with gold outlining them. His sword was the same still, and a black crown with captivating jewels engraved in it rested on top of his head. There was something about it that made it look...alive in a way. "In the words of Remus, you just lack imagination..."
"Roman, this isn't you...C'mon, take off the crown..." Remus said, walking up to him. Romulus just smirked and glared him down.
"I don't take orders from a Dumpster Fire like yourself. Now if you would all kindly back up, I won't slit your throats.. yet."
Virgil just stared at him, his anxiety rising in his chest. He knew this was bad...very bad...but he couldn't do anything about it...
"Kiddo...? Please...it's me, Patton...don't you remember us...?"
Romulus seemed to find that quite amusing. "Oh, that's even funnier than your dad jokes! And that's even more hilarious, because your jokes aren't even funny," he inspected his nails, crossing his arms. "Unfortunately, I do remember you all. Oh, how much I hate every single one of you. I do have my reasons. Shall I explain?"
Janus stepped in front of everyone else, in a protective stance, just in case Romulus tried anything. "Romulus...please just take off the crown...leave Roman alone..."
Romulus laughed bitterly at him. "Oh Janus...have I mentioned how much I hate you? I'll start with you then... back, long ago when we first met, you and your pathetic little friends shunned me...after the Creative Twins split, I saw Roman as my new target...the side I could live through...be myself once again...but of course, once I got him, you only saw how it affected Remus...he's all you cared about, isn't it? You forced me to take off the crown and you hid it yourself...then, you made me and Paranoia live in the deep depths of Thomas's mind, where he rarely goes... It's a shame you can't let Damon back in control...I rather liked him..."
"You deserve to rot in the deepest, darkest pits of Hell, Pride," Janus said smoothly, keeping his guard up. Patton seemed to get scared, for he held onto Logan, shaking a bit. Logan subconsciously wrapped an arm around him, watching the scene in front of them. Remus was fighting back tears of his own. Watching his brother have to suffer because of a side you couldn't let go really hurt him. Virgil was afraid of Janus getting hurt... he vaguely remembered hearing stories of Romulus from Janus, but never actually seeing the person face to face...
Romulus growled a bit, quietly, as he held onto the handle of his sheathed sword. "Watch yourself, Janus...you may be a sly snake, but I'm the prideful lion. Don't say something you're regret in the future..."
"I regret nothing of the sort..."
"You will once I claw your eyes out."
"You say that, but you never will. Your ego gets in the way of what you can and can't do. And when you figure out you are too cowardly to do such an action, your ego deflates, and you take it out on either yourself or the people around you..."
A low growl came from Romulus's throat as his fists clenched. He seemed like he was about to, quite literally, pounce on the snake.
Before any violence could occur, Remus snapped his fingers, creating a portal back to the living room. "Guys, hurry! Now!" Remus yelled, pushing them toward it. "This isn't my side of the Imagination so I can't hold the portal much longer!"
Without another word, Janus shoved Romulus backwards, giving himself enough time to go through the portal, along with the others. Once they got through, the portal began to shrink. Romulus growled more fiercely as he lunged for it. Right as he came close to it, it shrunk into nothing, disappeared. He landed on the ground.
Quickly, he stood up to regain his composure, and brushed the dirt off if his clothes. Anger surged through him as he let out a terrifying lion roar.
He was out for blood...
The blood of a snake...
