— SWORDS THAT CLASH —
WHY DO THEY ALL
ACT LIKE STUPID
AND BRAINLESS
CHILDRENEVERYTHING WAS FALLING APART as the Narnians struggled to retreat. The minotaur who was holding the gate up let out a sharp howl, obviously in pain as he was struggling to hold the gate open for much long. Peter, who was busy looking frantically for Caspian, couldn't seem to find the Telmarine prince no matter how much he looked.
"Draw back!" Peter once again yells out in an attempt to relay the message to his troops. "Get out! Retreat!" As if on cue, Caspian appears out of nowhere, bursting through a gate to the courtyard on horseback while holding onto another horse's reigns that galloped alongside his own. The professor followed close behind Caspian who was also on horseback.
Caspian approaches Peter and hands him the reigns of the horse beside him. Peter ran alongside the horse and he eventually lifted himself up to mount the horse. The high king hoped that they would be able to retreat safely, and that all this would come to an end soon.
As Miraz watches the scene before him, he decided he finally had enough with the tricks of the Narnians. "Give the order." He instructs, turning over to General Glozelle who had a hand raised as if to tell the archers to hold their fire a while longer. Miraz was growing impatient, especially when the King and Queen along with the Telmarine Prince were all still down there. This was not the time he play mercy and let them slip through his grasp. But General Glozelle did not share the same thought as the Telmarine Lord.
He gives Miraz a look of confusion, thinking that this was such a rash decision to make. "My men are still down there." He said, reminding the lord. The general was hoping that Miraz had simply slipped on his tongue and didn't really mean the instruction. For if he was dead serious, he'd basically have a blood bath in his courtyard.
But Miraz was serious. The high king was just about to escape through the gates with Caspian and the Narnians, Miraz thought this was no time to bicker about what they should've done in the first place. "Now!" He exclaimed, grabbing the crossbow from Glozelle and aimed the weapon straight for the minotaur who held the gate up. Glozelle flinches at Miraz's sudden move, still disagreeing with the order. In the flurry of disaster, the arrow lunges itself into the Minotaur's thigh, the beast howling in pain as he tried his best to ignore it. "Fire!"
