Everybody wonders if there's life after death, or at least what happens once we leave this life behind. Well, Afterlife would be the place to go.

After a car accident, Lianne Martínez comes back to her senses to complete darkness and an eery silence, only accentuated by her heartbeat — or lack thereof. However, never in a million years would she have imagined Afterlife could be so... lively.

With time, Lianne manages to make a place for herself, meeting new people and maybe even reuniting with some people she'd never thought she'd see again. And everything should be fine, especially with eternity in front of her, right?

maybe it's not about the happy ending
maybe it's about the story

You'll see this in the aesthetics on the next chapter, but the MC is a POC, particularly of Chinese origin. Why? Because it's my book and so I make the rules, meaning I'll include the type of characters I would like to see (i. e. I'd like to see people like me represented).

There will be other characters who are POC, which I'll try to represent as accurately as possible, but if I make a mistake don't doubt pointing it out nicely. I'm still learning, and I'm a human being with feelings, even though at times I might not seem like it. I'm a huge believer of giving what you receive, and also preach Harry Styles' motto treat people with kindness, so give me that and I'll gladly give it in return. However, be rude or disrespectful — to me or anyone else — in the comments and you'll see how easy it is for me to press the mute button. As people say in my country, no me busques, que me encuentras.

Also worthy of mentioning, English is not my first language. The spelling I've learned since I was a little girl was British, but I've been "Americanised" — if you will — throughout the years thanks to the books I've read and the shows and movies I've watched, so it's possible I'll unconsciously end up mixing a bit of both grammars or vocab. Also, I'll try to proof read for any little mistakes, but if I miss any typo (don't point out British/American spelling) and you feel like pointing it out, do so nicely.

Lastly, there will be bits and pieces of Spanish (as I said, I'd like to see people like me represented and *gasp* surprise, I'm Spanish ~and~ a POC). Still, the bits I will include can be easily guessed from the context or will be mentioned further on — I feel like most of them will be curse words, but who knows. If you still have doubts, don't hesitate asking your friends Google Translate or WordReference.

- mentions of other topics such as depression and anxiety, so please read it if you're in the right headspace — still, i'll put a warning at the beginning of the chapter just in case.
