I reached the bottom of the stairs to see Dylan chatting away to my mom. When she noticed me she raised her eyebrow. I shook my head and rolled my eyes. Percy came down and asked what I was about to say when Dylan interrupted.
"I was thinking we need to find that rock or whatever. I mean it got you here... I'm betting it'll bring you back."
"You're probably right" he said with a determined look, "but where will we find it?"
"That's the problem..." I bit my lip.
"What if it's somewhere around where I appeared?" He asked.
"Maybe..." I turned to my mom "I'm going on a walk. I'll be back later"
"Okay" she replied.
We rushed out the door and walked down to the bus stop. We looked around on the ground but found nothing.
"I don't think it's here" I said discouraged.
"Hmm do you have any source of water in you're neighborhood? Like a pond or something? I did find it at the beach."
"Yeah there's a creek thing over there"
As we walked to the creek we talked. I couldn't help but notice how his hair fell into his eyes every once in a while. He would brush it out of his face and continue talking. I'm standing next to Percy Jackson. THE Percy Jackson is talking to ME. This was turning out to be the best day ever.
We soon reached the creek and Percy dived in. He instantly popped back up out of the water. He was soaked and coughing.
"Oh my gosh are you okay?"
"Yeah" he replied in between coughs
"my powers obviously don't work in 'reality' or whatever."
"I guess so" I shrugged.
I looked around the edges of the creek concentrating hard. Meanwhile Percy was still a bit confused he couldn't control the water or talk to the fish. He said hello to one but it just lazily swam away. I was almost back to where I started when I saw something sparkle out of the corner of my eye.
I quickly turned around and walked back over to the spot. How could I have missed it?!? Sitting right there was a rock. A rock that seemed as if it was changing colors."PERCY" I called, "get over here!"
He walked over looking a bit glum."What is it?" He asked.
"Does this look familiar?"
"Yeah that's the one" he answered excitedly.
I picked it up and it did exactly what he had described. Soon the words the Obcultus were engraved on the stone. I read it aloud waiting for the other engravings to appear. I soon started to recognize what they were. I noticed the deathly hallows from Harry Potter, the abnegation symbol from Divergent, a maze to represent The Maze Runner, and the trident from Percy's series.
I smiled excitedly.
