Road Trip // D.S. // To Hawaii

I wake up to the sound of an alarm. I feel one arm on my hip and another on my right shoulder gently rubbing it. My head gracefully resting on his bare chest. Slightly moving to the peaceful movement of his breath. My right leg in between his legs and my left leg on the other side of his right leg. Before I could take in our position more. A soft voice spoke from just awakening. Letting the alarm ring some more.

"good morning" he says readjusting to grab his phone

"morning" I mumble not wanting to use any more strength in my voice

"What do you want for breakfast?" He asks after setting his phone down, fixing my hair.

"I don't know, do they even have breakfast now?" I croak from just waking up

"Not sure, but let's go watch that sunrise"

We both get out of bed getting changed separately. I'm wearing light blue jeans with a simple white thrasher shirt tucked in and a black belt as an accent piece. With a light green almost tan jean jacket to keep warm and simple black vans.

Daniel wears black jeans, a black long sleeve with a design on the front and a bigger one on the back. A blue beanie and a chain necklace. With tan combat boots.

We pack all of our stuff, deciding to check out now so when we drive to go hike. We can just get right back on the road to our next destination.

"oh my gosh! sorry the radio scared me. I don't remember it being that loud" I ramble

"You're the one who volumed it up" Daniel laughs

"Whatever just drive" I smile

Daniel drives to a small gravel parking space. We get out of the car leaving all of our stuff besides our phones in the car.

Immediately feel a breeze from the cool dark sky. "Woah, it's a lot colder than I thought" I walk around the car meeting Daniel and we walk side by side up the giant rock.

"Are we stopping in New Mexico?" Daniel asks

"Of course! I have to pick up a souvenir" I smile

"Okay then, we'll stop in Phoenix and get something, then tonight we should make it to New Mexico"

"Great! Then tomorrow morning we'll be on our way to Texas!"

"Yup, Texas is going to be a while two days minimum" Daniel replies

"At least we get more time to explore" I shrug

"That's not how it works, the more time we spend there the- more time we spend there" he laughs "it's as simple as that"

"Mhm, we could still do stuff than sit in a car for 12 hours"

"Of course we can, and we will" Daniel smiles

We make it up the hill, sitting on a big rock side be side. Watching the sun slowly rise and fill the sky with light red, calm orange, and pastel yellow.

"It's beautiful" I admire the sky

"It definitely is" Daniel says glancing at me then back at the sky.

After the peaceful and beautiful sunrise we took a few photos and laugh from the small jokes.

"Y/n, take a picture of this, it's cool" Daniel smiles

"Yes, perception wise I guess" I laugh

"What, they don't even know they're being squished" he shrugs

"It's looks cool though"

"I told you!"

After our wonderful hike. We drive all the way down to Phoenix. Well technically the car drove itself for the most part and I of course just sat in the car, entertaining both myself and Daniel. We stop at a small gift shop and I buy a reusable water bottle labeled with Grand Canyon.

7 more hours of driving the sun has just set and we arrived in New Mexico. One stop for gas lead me into buying a small bracelet labeled New Mexico as my souvenir for this state.

We take a quick stop at a hotel to sleep for the night after almost making it half way through where we need to travel. Which is just the very bottom part of New Mexico. Texas is going to be a long one because we need to travel through the whole state.

"this boy" I shake my head laughing after looking at Daniel's position

"Sorry, you can sleep on the floor" Daniel chuckles, laying himself out more almost taking up the whole bed.

"nope, not happening" I smile jumping on Daniel's back laying on top of him.

Daniel grunts from the impact soon laughing after "this girl"

"goodnight" I smile snuggling into his back

"No, y/n get up. I'll share the bed" Daniel whines

"Too late, already asleep" I softly laugh

"Oh really?"

"yup"

Immediately after saying that Daniel turns to his side, flinging me off and slowly rolling off the bed on purpose just to get him back.

"owww" I whine

"I'm not believing it" Daniel huffs

"Wow, I'm in pain and you don't care? Nice to know where I stand" I cross my arms

Daniel sits up, looking at me staring at the floor. Both of us waiting for the other to speak. I couldn't hold my straight face anymore so I let a smile slip then looking more down hidding my face in my knees. Daniel chuckles from my action.

"I knew you were just playing" he gets up from the bed "but I also know you're not getting up anytime soon" he picks me up and gently tosses me onto the bed

I immediately smile, even if I failed I still won. I mean, like he would let me actually sleep on the floor. I get under the blankets leaving my head poking out admiring Daniel laying down next to me.
