Chapter Two - The All-mighty Gaydars
Peter and Harley returned from school exhausted meanwhile Morgan seemed to have loads of energy.
"What's crawled up your asses and died?" Tony chuckled as the two boys came into the house with annoyed and tired expressions on their faces.
"Tony!" Natasha scolded.
"Someone called Miss Vanderbilt a Misses during first period so she proceeded to use the entire class period to talk about her divorce last year and how her husband-"
"Ex-husband," Peter droned.
"- sorry ex-husband, and the, and I quote, 'whore he fucked and got pregnant' need to die," Harley said as he took a breath.
"So that's why she was so rude to Jamie in the halls," Morgan mumbled to herself.
"Go do your homework. Dinner will be ready in about two hours. We're having lasagna," Natasha said as she waved her children to their separate bedrooms.
Peter walked to his room, kicked his door shut, and threw his things onto his bed before collapsing onto it. He and Johnny had literally collided in the hallways after school. Peter, being his natural clumsy and stupid self, decided to walk backwards as he talked to Mj and Flash. She even warned him that he was being a Grade A dumbass, but no, Peter couldn't have just listened to her, he had to continue on.
It ended in Johnny who was looking at his phone, and Peter who was walking backward, to run smack into one another. It was like those old cheese movies where the nerd and the jock run into each other. Then as the movie progresses you find out the jock is a nice guy who is just tortured and the nerdy girl is just as nerdy at the end.
He was just annoyed at the whole situation. Falling on his ass was nothing new to him, but he was slightly upset that he had knocked the hot new kid down with him.
Peter already marked him as a no go zone. If anything the two of them would be friends. He told himself a long time ago that he wasn't going to drag anyone into the drama of being a Stark unless they already knew how to handle paparazzi and fans.
You would think that Peter wouldn't be a big deal. Yeah, okay, maybe his dad being the CEO of the world's leading distributor in eco-friendly tech, and his sister being in a movie when she was young would bring him a slight amount of fame. That's not how it seemed to work though. Everyone seemed interested in the Stark children since they were born. From asking questions if the kids were planned to if they are really Tony's children, the media never really seemed to forget about them until the spring of 2007.
Then in the summer of the same year, the boating accident happened and they were in the center of everything yet again. Howard's funeral's location was leaked by a distant family member and they had to move it very last minute and have security help the friends and family that had already shown up escort them out.
Ever since the crash, the Stark's just seemed to have one big thing after another happen that kept them more than relevant. Thankfully, most of their school was used to them so other than everyone knowing them, there wasn't much different about their lives.
The Stark family had strong beliefs about what was personal and what the media should know. Tony, knowing from experience, set the ground rules and as the family aged, they added in what they did and didn't care for the world to know about them.
