Dear Lily,
I decided that I would hang out with you today. We laid in the tall grass of our backyards and watched the sunset while we talked. We had random conversations and it was like nothing had changed between us. But I could sense that a lot had actually changed.
You weren't the same. Your crystal eyes used to shine brighter than the thousands of stars in the night sky. Your smile used to reach your eyes and cause tiny wrinkles. Your ribs also never looked like they were trying to escape your body, but now they do. I paid attention to all the small things that were changing. I noticed, even if you didn't want me to.
You looked like you were falling apart. Your eyes were now dull and glassy as if you had always been crying and your smile no longer reached your eyes. Hell, it barely even showed.
One by one, I began to notice all the little things that had changed. I knew that I had to try to help you. I know that you'll try to push me away, but you have no choice.
