Flashback:

Ten Years Old Kabir

Malik Residence:

"Listen sweetie pie. People will come and go. They will say something and leave. You should not change yourself to fit anywhere. You are who you are and you should do what you feel comfortable with. So no, you should not try to fit yourself anywhere." Kabir replied in his firm voice and Sanaa's eyebrows rose up.

"I should not listen to any random people. But these are my parents. I should listen to them right? Parents only want good thing for their children." She asked her doubt.

"They are not your..." Kabir shouted but stopped in the mid-sentence when he heard the foot steps behind them.

Sanaa's relaxed posture immediately changed and he didn't need to turn around to know who the person was. The sudden chillness in the atmosphere and deathly silence meant only one thing.

That man was here.

"Sanaa go inside your room." He said in his cold voice, leaving no way for any question. Sanaa looked and Kabir helplessly, fighting the urge to stand there with him or leave him alone with her father.

"Go inside sweetie pie. I will see you soon." Kabir reassured her because he didn't like to see her torn up face. She smiled in relief knowing that this wasn't the last time he met her.

She has to admit that his presence gave her a sudden sense of comfort and warmth. He appeared so familiar that she can't help but say everything to him truthfully. She didn't open up to anyone so soon. Not even to her sister. Only her best friend Vaish knew what she felt about her family.

But they were friends since kinder garden but she met Bir just now and told him everything and didn't regret anything. She felt this connection with him which she can't explain. She wanted to see him again and so when he gave her assurance that he will see her soon, she was relieved.

She walked inside the house hurriedly not wanting to anger her father.

After she left Kabir turned and came face to face with the man who was his so called father. He has seen his pictures but they didn't make him look as cold as he was looking in real life. It was true that his sweetie pie was a replica of this man but that's all they had in common. She gave him a sense of radiance but this man... he just gave him a pointed look, checking out his appearance.

His light brown eyes looked into his blue ones. Kabir knew that his eyes reminded people of his mother.

"You have your mother's eyes." That man finally said. "You look like her."

"Can't be thankful enough for that." Kabir replied in an equally strong voice.

He was prepared for this moment. This cold exterior of that man didn't scare him. If that man thought that just because he looks like his mother he will be soft hearted like her; then he was in for a big surprise. He was not an emotional person like his mother.

"We should talk inside." Mr. Malik said.

"I'm not entering your house." Kabir replied.

Mr. Malik looked like he wanted to argue but knew that his staff people were watching his every move so just nodded stiffly.

"Out house is empty. Let's go there." He said and Kabir smiled in victory. Even a small thing as much as winning an argument with him gave him a sense of accomplishment.
