Chapter 17 - Welcome to The Dome
After breakfast, their groups once again separated.
Their classmates went with Felicia, to organize some new room arrangements.
Aldrin went with Finnian, Cora, Sef, Lionel, and Haven to train their abilities.
Meanwhile, Devon was stuck with Adrian. And the Oracle swore that any minute from now, it could be possible that he was richer than Hades if he had a nickel every damn time Adrian asked him a question.
"How could we breathe here?"
"How does time run here?"
"How do we even get here as fast as we did?"
"Do you think my powers will develop today?"
Devon tried to answer them with his knowledge, but even he wasn't that knowledgeable by that much yet of the worlds beyond theirs.
Adrian was just speaking however. And Devon just let him. It was better that his curiosity was getting the best of him than his emotions.
"So, where are we going again?"
Don't punch him.
Devon sighed. "We're going to one of the training rooms of the council, Ad. That's where junior members of the Council are trained before sent to the battlefield."
Adrian opened his mouth, but Devon cut him off before he could ask.
"And we're going to see if we could develop your skills as well too," Devon said.
Adrian laughed beside him. "I'm annoying you, am I?" he asked, as if he was more amused by Devon's said annoyance.
"You could be a little infuriating at times," Devon admitted, shrugging, "Especially when you're curiosity isn't satisfied."
"I'm sorry, okay?" Adrian sheepishly said, "It's just that this entire place is really out-of-this-world, you know? More than just literally. And I'd rather focus here than the fact that my mom is currently alone with Alvin. And it's just the two of them."
Devon stopped walking, looking at Adrian with a look that he hoped hid his emotions.
"Do you want to go back?"
Adrian stopped walking, as if noticing that he wasn't beside him, and then turned.
"Frankly, yes. I want to go back," Adrian told him, "But I thought of what you told me the previous night, D. And I figured that if it's true that monsters are out to get us, then maybe it's better if we stay here."
Devon just looked at Adrian for a moment longer before a small smile crept unto his face. "That's good to hear."
Adrian smiled back. "Yeah..."

Aldrin found a new friend.
And Cora and the rest thought that it was predictable that he and Sef would get along so well—even just by walking from the previous room to another random room where Lionel and Haven led them.
"Where are we?" Cora asked Lionel who smiled and opened the lights.
The sudden brightness didn't affect Aldrin as much as the rest of them did. So, Aldrin had a few moments earlier to see that they had just entered a huge empty dome. With literally nothing inside.
