Behind Everything...

Chapter 31

Katherine's POV:

"Okay girls, go, pack your bags. We'll be leaving tonight itself", Tara said in a very excited but calm tone. "Yipee-", Tessa couldn't hold her wild excitement so Arya has to shut her up by cupping her mouth with her hand.

Mummy doesn't know about this plan or else she won't allow us to go out this late. We have to be careful. It was around midnight when left the house and began our journey. Tessa was so excited that she wanted to scream. We've never done such adventure in our whole life, so clearly all of us were pretty excited.

"Tessa, I swear, if you don't lower your voice, I'm gonna kick you out of this car", Arya angrily stated. "Arya is right. Tessa, you're too loud. You'll make us killed", Tara said while driving. "How far it is?", I asked Tara. "It's only forty minutes away-"," TARA CAREFUL!!!", I screamed. Tara's sudden turn made us fall from our seats.

"What was that?", Arya asked in a scared tone. "I saw someone in front of our car", I said in my most frightened voice. "Oh. I thought it was me who is imaging wild things", Tessa claimed. "Tara it's very dark here and also this place is a bit creepy. I think that's must be the reason why we are imagining things", Arya said while trying her best to calm me and Tessa.

Finally, we reached our destination. As I stepped out of the car, I felt like someone was staring at me from behind. I've never had such strange feelings before. Maybe because we've never done these things before. The house which Tara rented for our night party was neither big nor small. It was perfect for all four of us. It was beautiful.

My sister become busy as they were taking out the things which we'll be having during the party.

Suddenly my heart started feeling heavy and it beating unusually and beads of sweat appeared over my forehead. My mouth was drying up and that was the moment when I could barely hear my sisters' voice. Weird sounds, which were more like whispers, as if someone was saying something to me.

"Daddy", I whispered. "Kathy, what's wrong?", Arya asked me softly. "What? Daddy?", Tessa asked while looking at the direction where I was pointing. "Oh, Kathy. Stop it!. Come, let's go inside", Arya said while grabbing my hand. "N- No", I hesitantly said. What I saw maybe it could be my imagination but this strange feeling.

"Kathy. Are you okay?", Tessa was also becoming worried about me. "Tara, I don't feel good over here. I don't know why but I feel like something bad is out there", I tried my best not to freak them out. "Why Kathy? Do you see something?", Arya asked. "Daddy...", I whispered. "What does he's trying to say", Arya asked. "He's asking us to not to go inside", I whispered. "Stop all these. Kathy, do you even know how much Tara spent just to rent this house? And that's too just because she wants you to be happy again but you're making nonsense", Tessa angrily stated. "Shut it, Tessa. Kathy, it's alright if you don't want to be here, we can go right now", Tara softly said.

Arya nodded as well, as she also wanted me just to be happy. "We all know Kathy, you're very sensitive to changes. It's totally fine. Your happiness is more important and all of these we're doing for you only. If you want us to go back, we will", Arya assured. I looked back to Tara who was waiting for my response and then back to Arya who was also giving me a weak smile. I finally gave them a nod, "Okay. Let's just give it a try then", I smiled. They all responded with the same genuine smile.

If my one 'yes' can make them so happy then why should I not? After all, we were also in the same wheel as I am. Five months ago I found out that my boyfriend Alex was cheating on me. It totally broke my heart, I was so much in love with him but he cheated on me and we broke up. Its been four months passed when Daddy passed due to heart-attack. Things become too hard for me when Tara decided to take us here for a new start.

We finally entered the house and my guts feelings making me more nervous than before. "Just for your information. Tara spent that money from which she was planning to buy her new camera lenses", Tessa whispered to me. Soon three of them began to decorate the room and asked me to change. They wanted to surprise me so I decided to explore the house. I found the house interesting, I was doing fine when suddenly I notice a photograph on the wall, next to a big window.

The photograph was of a girl. I don't know what came over me when I decided to take a closer look at the photograph. The photograph had a date. The date when the girl died was mention over there. Then I saw something. The reflection on the glass. "Daddy", I whispered yelled. Quickly I turned around and there was no one.

Helplessly I looked outside. I saw him again. Signing me to get out of this house. My eyes welled up with tears. I tried to call my sisters for help but my mouth was dry and couldn't make. My head started pounding and my body felt heavy and then everything went black.

"Kathy. Kathy? Are you okay?", Arya asked me in a concerned tone. "I told you, she isn't well", Arya said. "I'm good", I said weakly. "Kathy, it's okay if you want to go home", Tara said while removing the hair strands. She just can't help. She loves to touch my hair. According to her, I've got hairs like Mummy. The most gorgeous hair. "I'm not feeling good", I groan. I hate to hurt my sisters but I can't always ignore my gut feeling too. The things I'm seeing recently are hard to explain to them.

The day when Ethan was bullying me, I was sick. When I left for the bathroom, I started crying. When I saw my reflection, I thought I saw something. I saw the same girl whom I saw in the bathroom, staring at me with an evil smile. I fainted in the bathroom itself and thankfully Veronica, Jasper and Peter helped me that day.  

Arya and Tessa were helping me to get out the house when Tara stated, "Oh no, we've got flat tyre". "Oh no. What do we do now?", Tessa said. "I don't think, there's any mechanic shop nearby. We have to either wait till morning so that we can call for some help or we have to walk now itself", Arya reminded us. " We can't leave the car here tomorrow. Mother would be mad at us", Tessa said.

"Tara, why don't you call your boyfriend? Maybe he can help", Arya advised. "Come on Arya. He lives in another city. Even if he wishes to come here, he can't reach here before sunrise and we have to reach home before Mummy wakes up", Tara said.

"Come on Tara, she wakes up at six and it's almost two. We'll still not get any mechanic this soon", Tessa complain. "Tessa is right. We won't find a mechanic this early so we either have to push the car or just make some excuse", Tara said. "Have you gone nuts? I can't push that car", Tessa exclaim.

"Tessa, Please. Don't be a fool. We have to work together", Arya pleaded to Tessa. "That's right. Or do you have any other plans?", Tara questioned.

As my sisters were fighting over what should we do with the car, I was silent for the whole time. Tessa must have noticed me, so she pointed out, "Okay. Why don't we take some advice from Kathy too? After all, she can give acceptable advice too". "At least, she's practical unlike you", Arya comment made Tessa mad at her. "Oh. Shut up you two. Kathy is sick", Tara angrily stated.

"I don't think there's anything we can do now. Tessa take Kathy with you inside. By the time she gets some rest, I and Arya will try to fix this", Tara said.
