After a few days nothing has changed.
At home it is still stressful, neither of our parents acknowledging one another or Ali and I, but it's better than them shouting.
I have refrained from spending much or any time around me parents and most of the time with Ali.
Aliyah and I sit in my room on my bed facing each other with our legs crossed eating dinner, our bowls of two minute noodles safely kept between our thighs.
"School is going ok?" I ask her while slurping up my meal.
"Um yeah I guess." She stares into her bowl, playing with the strands of noodles on her fork.
I nod, not knowing what to say. My sister just sits there not eating.
"Ali?"
"Mmm?" She asks.
"What's wrong?"
“Nothing!”
I raise my eyebrow at her, even she know that she just proved my point.
"Everything ok, everything is wrong." and with that she stands up and leaves.
I am left by myself with two bowls of food.
I take the bowls into the kitchen and then I make my way to Aliyah's room.
"Ali?" I say gentle knocking on her door, "are you in here?"
"Cass just let me be ok? You can't fix anything."
"But Ali,"
"No Cass, just go."
Aliyah stays in her room and doesn't open the door to let me in.
I walk back to my own room and spend the rest of the evening studying.
Just as I'm about to go to bed I get a skype call from Luke.
Without thinking about my appearance I accept the call.
"Hey Luke." I wave down the camera.
I see myself and gasp, hiding under the desk, quickly brushing my hair and adjusting my top.
"Hey Cass, I uh wanted to see how things were going." Luke says, obviously confused.
I resurface and smile.
"Aw that's sweet, I'm good thanks, done studying for the night. You?"
