Chapter Six

"So where are we going?" I ask Luke as he drives us to our lunch date. 

"I don't know it's a secret." He laughs at me, quickly glancing at me then looking back at the road.

I pretend pout and pull my hair out of my eyes, “That’s rude.”

“Aww bae.” Luke smirks, teasing me.

Luke starts humming to the music playing from his phone through the car's Bluetooth system, and he turns up the volume slightly so now I can almost hear the lyrics clearly. 

"What song is this? I swear I know it!"  I ask Luke. 

"What?! No one ever knows the music I listen too! It is one of my favourites!"

"Really?" I turn up the dial to hear it more, the lyrics helping me remember.

Luke starts singing and I finally get it.

"The Strokes; All the time?" 

"Ah yeah you do know it! Wow I finally have someone to share my music taste with."

I laugh at him, “You know a lot of people listen to stuff like this?”

Then we reach the Main Street and Luke searches for a park. 

“Why is it so bloody busy here? Where are all the fucking parks?” Luke groans in frustration as we complete a second loop around the main street.

Once he finds one, we wander down the street to the surprise restaurant. 

"Where are we going Luke?" 

"Can't you just enjoy a walk on a lovely day without knowing where you're going Collins?"

"Apparently not." 

Luke's hand finds mine and I link our fingers together, gently swinging our arms. 

"So what else do you listen to?" I ask him.

"Well a bit of everything really. The Black Keys, The Killers oh and also The New Politics are good, and I've listened to a bit of X Ambassadors." 

"I love The New Politics! Berlin and Tonight you are perfect are some of my favourite songs." 

"I know! Finally someone to share my genre with!" 

"Aha, like The Killers song says 'it's indie rock and roll for me'." I quote. 

“Do you quote everything, I mean come movie and music? What’s next books?” Luke give me a huge teasing smirk, obviously trying to be funny.
