Chapter 10: Fight for her

She's back
6:30pm

        I stare at my phone like it's some sort of disease. If you don't understand ABC is Shade. It means amebo business centre and that girl can talk for Africa. I am not that weird sha. Only God knows what Gabriel saved her number with.

       Anyway that is the least of my problems. One month. It's been one month since Princess practically rejected me. After about two weeks of avoiding me she disappeared. Funny enough Shade and Chioma are not affected. Like it's a normal occurrence. Unlike me that is losing my mind over her.

       And now this two words has just scattered my head. The girl clearly doesn't want me but I like her so much. This past month has been hell. I don't know what to do anymore.

        "Dinner is ready" Ola shouts. I have 3 siblings. My elder brother Kelechi, my younger brother and sister who are twins, Jason and Olamma. The twins are 6 years while Kelechi is 25. The guy is in youth service but he came to visit.

       "I am not hungry" I shout back. I know I am a guy and it's like a disgrace to guy code or whatever to lose my mind over one girl that doesn't even want me. But this message made me lose my appetite. I am about to lay back on the bed when I hear my mother's voice. " David Supuruchi Michael Chinonso Bia rie ni osiso" come and eat quickly she says with that no nonsense tone so I stand up grumbling and muttering ever single cuss that I can think of at the moment.

       "Mummy I want to pray." Jason says "No I want to pray" Ola bites back. "But you prayed this morning" "okay Jason pray Ola you'll pray tomorrow okay"My Dad says "okay" she says unhappily. Normally I will cheer her up and promise her some thing but I am not in the mood.

        "In Jesus name" He starts "Amen" "Lord Jesus we bring this food in to your hands. Help us that as we eat this food that no harm will come upon us in Jesus name. Let this food be a blessing to us in Jesus name. And God help my elder brother David and his problem in Jesus name" I choke on my spit. The worst part is that he says it so innocently and asks usual just to get on my nerves Kelechi shouts the biggest Amen. I glare at him and eat my food.

        "So Ola how was your day" My mum asks. " It was okay. I got my test and my teacher praised me in front of everyone in the class. But Jason was looking for me and Cynthia's trouble with his freinds" Fight will start now. "But mummy daddy they looked for our trouble first. She took my pencil and did not give me back. I had to borrow" "But you were dragging Cynthia's hair and you are my biscuit without my permission. Besides I passed you with one mark." "Just one mark" he grumbles. If I am the usual happy Dave I will say something like"My brother is crushing on someone" and get a shut up from mummy or say something like "don't worry you will regain your pride in tomorrow's test" But I am the opposite of that Dave.

       "So Dave how was your day" I know it. Who else will ask me this kindergarten question except Kelechi. "It was fine" "So has my brother seen any fine babe" He asks giving me that his mischievous smirk. Now I am supposed to tell him to get off my case but images of Princess and She's back is ringing in my ears. "Jason do you want my rice" The boy nodded. I swear he loves food more than his life. I greet my parents, glare at Kelechi hoping that he will find his way six feet under the ground which doesn't happen, wash my plate and enter my room.

       After like 10mins Kelechi enters without knocking as usual. "For the one thousandth time what if I was doing something" "and you walked in blah blah blah. Don't worry I know what your gonna say. Anyway what's with you and don't tell me nothing because I know it's a girl" I give him that how do you know look. He shrugs and says that it's elder brother intuition.

          So I tell him every thing. Every single thing. Kelechi maybe annoying but he's a great brother and one of my best friends. "Eh sorry o but before I say what I want to say how good is she abeg" Bad boy comes into play. "Upon all the whole question wey you see na that one. Once a bad boy" "Always a bad boy" He says and we both laugh. "She's perfect" I say as I remember how soft her lips are. "Wait bro I don't know the kind of porn that is going on in that head of yours but the last thing we need now is a boner" You see what she does to me. "So if you love.." "love wetin. Please o. Love is a huge word." I say. I know I like her but loving her is a whole new level.

        "Okay o. Eh if you like her fight for her. From all indications she likes you. Or are you afraid that she will kill you or some thing like that" "of course not" Her business is none of my concerns. Everyone has one bad thing or the other they've done. I am not trying to justify the things she's doing but she has her reasons. "You know what bro. Fight for her"

     I am about to thank him when he starts cleaning fake tears "My little brother has grown up now" "Kelechi you have started abi. I am not little" He is about to say something when Gab and Chuks enter inside them room. "What's up with all of you. I know that you didn't learn anything in Primary school but at least you know what knocking means na. Except if I know that the swear they swore for you has no cure" I say.

       They all roll their eyes. "We came for bro night. Kelechi are you joining." "Sure" "please call John and Maduka abeg. I miss them" those are Kelechi's freinds. "Okay" He says and walks out to make the call. "Remember we are joining the girls and Shola's freinds to shop for gifts and party stuffs for their birthday" Gabriel says. "I completely forgot. Shade and Shola's birthday is coming in up in a week and they want all this party and all. Which means that Princess will be there. Tomorrow is going to be a longgggg day.
