Chapter 11: Chips and icecream

               "Nope. We are not watching if I stay. I cried the last time I watched it. It's too touching" Chioma says.
 
          So we've been here in my room for the past 2 hours trying to do each other's makeup. Each year we go shopping for each other's birthday and since Shade and Shola's birthday is coming up we are going shopping today. They have a plan but they don't want to tell us. These twins are a handful.

         "Ok what of Ella enchanted or whatever the name is" Shade says. "Too fake. How can someone follow every instruction like a dumb puppy. Puhlease" Chioma says. Okay incase I forgot to tell you, the girls are trying to pick a movie for our movie night. Shade's idea not mine.

           I miss Dave so much. His too blue eyes, being a nosy, cocky guy and being one of the best guys I've ever slept with. The two weeks I spent trying to avoid him was hell and it became worse when I left to deal with a shipment from one of our major clients.

         Nope. I don't deal with drugs. They are too messy. We smuggle weapons. I never wanted to be part of this but Rose was able to put me in this mess and she's made it very hard for me to come out of it.

        I know I'm falling for Dave okay. And I know it's wrong. I have a lot of enemies including Timi and I have a shitty past which Dave won't like. I did a background check on him and his life is pretty perfect. Happy parents, lovely siblings, good grades so we are total opposites. I am pretty smart though but we aren't meant to be.

        He is also a distraction I can't afford in this time of my life. I can't help it but I don't need him. I think I am helping him by staying away right? "More like convincing yourself." My subconscious tells me. Oh shut up

         "So what do you think?" Shade asks me. "Umm what?" I say sheepishly because I am about to get a lecture from Shade soon. "At least you can be you around them"  "You weren't listening? I was telling you about how cute Morgan's new pic about her kid is. And you weren't listening? How many times will I tell you to always pay attention when......."

            "Okay okay I get it. Sorry okay. The picture is soo cute that I want to marry the small boy. Are you happy now?" I bite back. Okay I've been too emotional lately so bear with me. "Lover boy again. You like him don't you" Chioma says. She calls Dave lover boy because according to them he looked depressed when I left.

          "I don't know okay. I think I like him but I am trying to stay away because I am going to drag him down with me eventually. And it hurts" i say whispering the last part. "Stop pushing people away. Live life happily. That's what matters" Shade says. "Thanks guys."

        "Oh my gosh! You look like a princess" Shade says when she sees my face. I roll my eyes "Duh my name is Princess." I say as I look at myself in the mirror. Okay I can't recognise myself.

  My hair is curled while my make up is really light. Light blue eye shadow with a nude lipstick. The gown is lovely and in fact I look perfect.
    
The moment is of course ruined when Rose walks in with a very annoyed look. "And where do you think you're going?" She slurs. By 11 she's already high. God. "Probably out of this universe" Chioma says

       "Don't try me o" "We are going shopping so if you don't mind get out of my way before I do something we will all regret." I say with a deadly low tone. The witch allows to go and in no time we are in my white sedan going to ShopRite.

       "So how are things with you and Gabriel" Chioma asks Shade. Shade and Gabriel started dating after the sleep over we had at her house. I wasn't surprised sha. I saw it coming.

         "We are good. He is planning a double date with you and Chuka very soon" Oh and incase I forgot, Chioma and Chuka started dating two weeks ago. I am the only one that is single here. I don't mind anyway.

         "Before you guys start talking about how wonderful your guys are we're here already" I say pulling up in the parking lot.

           "Hi babe" Shade squeals as she sees Gabriel. I just roll my eyes. "Hi. You look lovely today" He says and I am sure her face is already looking like a ripe tomato but I don't care. I don't know how everytime I get lost in this blue eyes but I do. And just as always our moment is ruined.

         "Good morning O" Shola screams into my ear. I flinch "Ba wo ni o se wa" (how are you)  He asks "Mo wa daadaa" (I am fine) I grumble. "Karen" I scream when I see her. She's Shola's girlfriend and my freind. I actually scream because Shola will start asking me stupid questions to just get on my nerves.

       "Babe how are you" I ask "Well you look better than me" "So guys" Shade screams to get everyone's attention "This is Shola and Karen and Shola this is Gabriel, Chuka and David" She says introducing them to each other.

       "Is someone doing introductions without us" I hear a very annoying voice say. "Why didn't you tell me she will be coming" I ask glaring at Shade. She just shrugs and says "You wouldn't have come"

       Okay in case you're wondering, the she is Sophia. A female asshole. I hate her guts. I don't know why she was even created in this life. "I am Sophia and this is my brother Teju" She says while flirting with Dave. I love Teju so much. He's been a brother to me in so many ways. Unfortunately he is gay. I don't like him that way sha I am just informing you.

We've been shopping for upto six hours already. We are in the food court about to eat when I notice Sophia seriously flirting with Dave. "Slut" I say with a kind of anger I don't understand.

       "What did you call me" She says looking at me with a murderous look. "A. Slut. Because that's what you are." "In short Shola why is she here in the first place" "Sorry Princess but she's my freind." "Yeah right" I mumble. "Okay I am going to get you a bag of chips and vanilla flavoured ice cream as an apology for bringing her here." My eyes bulge and I squeal like a little kid "Seriously?" I ask with the best grin I could muster "Seriously" He says back. "That is why I love you soo much"

       There are some things I love in this life more than anything. Sleep and my Chips and icecream. I hear some one clear her throat. "Don't worry Karen. He's all yours"

       He gets my chips and icecream and I start eating like an over excited child. Dave looks at me with a shocked expression but Shade says "she can kill for this"

        "Can I taste your chips" I hear Dave say. I look at my chips, then at him, then back to my chips. "Okay" I grumble but everyone looks at me with a shocked expression.

       "You have never, I mean ever allowed me to come between ten metres radius with your chips"Shade exclaims. "Me too" Shola says "Me three" Teju says. "Well is not like I can refuse those blue eyes of his" I mumble but Teju hears me and gives me a very amused smirk which I return with a don't you dare look.

        "So guys we've decided to celebrate our birthday in one of Dad's hotels in Calabar state. Dave's brother is serving there and we've booked a flight for tomorrow night." Shola says.
I look at both of them with are you serious expression. "And you don't have a choice" Shade puts in when she sees my face. This is gonna be a long week.

So chapter 11 is out. I am so sorry for updating this late but I have been over busy and I have battery issues. But I promise to try and update more.
