Chapter 14: Fight

Princess
      I wake up to a very excited Dave singing in the shower. In less than 10 minutes he comes out whistling happily. "Did you win a lottery or what?" I ask. "Better than that" "Um so what happened?" "My brother is on his way!" He squeals like an overly excited child.

     I chuckle at his excitement. "You must love him so much then" I say. "Of course. I will never admit it to him though. It will just boost his ego unnecessarily. Since he entered University he rarely comes home. I saw him last week but I really want to see him again"

     "Isn't it too early for him to come" I saw yawning. "Darling, it's 12pm" He says chuckling. "12 what?" I scream as I sprint to the bathroom. After getting the right temperature I hum brown skin girl as I think about all that has happened in the past 72 hours.

      He called me darling. I think my heart is about to burst. I feel heat rising on my cheeks. I immediately think about the old me before Dave came into the picture.

        I never ever blushed but because of a blue eyed Greek god I seem to be doing that almost every time that I'm with him. I was a popular play girl even when I was 'dating' Timi but since I met Dave at the canteen I haven't even spared another guy a glance. Unfortunately I can't afford to mess up Dave's life with my already messed up life.

         I don't want a repeat of what happened yesterday to happen so I finish getting ready before I come out. I am immediately met with everyone in the room. Teju and Shade are on my bed. Teju looks like he is sleeping though. Shola and Karen are on Dave's bed. Chuka and Gabriel are on the couch while Dave is making a call. Everyone seems okay except Chuka who has a really pissed scowl on his face.

      In less than two minutes we hear a knock on the door. Dave gets it and with a huge smile he hugs a slightly older replica of him. Which means the both are hot. Not now. I groan.

    "My favourite older brother" Dave says. "Supuru I am your only elder brother" Kelechi says with a very strict mom tone. "You really suck at acting like her" and they both laugh including Gabriel. Chuka just sits there glaring daggers at Kelechi.

      "Bro" Gabriel says and they do the usual bro hug kind of thing. "I will never understand why almost all guys do that" I say. "You must be Princess" He says smiling. Dave slumps on my bed. "Please not now" He groans.

       "Is looks like someone is stalking me" I say using his words against him" "Please don't do that" He mumbles. Kelechi and I laugh at him before I hug him. "This is Shade, Chioma and Teju" Dave introduces immediately waking him up.

        "You" was what Teju and Kelechi say at the same time. "Hi bro. Thanks again" Teju says grateful. "Ummm do you guys know each other." I ask. "Remember when you called last 2 weeks and I said that Sophia had a killer hangover. He was the one who brought her home" Teju explains.

        "Chioma nice to meet you. You look lovely though" He says shaking her hand. That didn't go down well with Chuka because we all hear he's very angry voice tell Kelechi to leave her alone.

       "Chill. I just shook her hand or am I not allowed to do that anymore?" He asks. "We all know that you don't just shake hands so back off. She's taken" Chuka says few inches away from Kelechi.

         "Guys stop this fight" I tell Gabriel and Dave. "Nah. This fight is four years due so Dave get me sprite from the freezer" Gabriel says. I look at Dave but the guy has the same expression as Gabriel. I just huff and turn around.

        "Okay stop this childishness right now. I might be a play boy but I am not a sex maniac okay. I know my boundaries." Kelechi says with a dangerously low tone. "So you had boundaries when you cheated on Hafsat and ruined my relationship with Vivian" Chuka says.

        I hear a humourless chuckle from Kelechi. "So it still boils down to Vivian. Did you ever ask me what happened? Of course not. I met a hot girl at the party I dropped Dave at so I talked to her and we landed in my apartment. I told that it was a one night stand and no strings attached which she agreed on like the desperate bitch she is.

       Only for me to wake up to see her cooking breakfast and calling me 'babe' as if we were exclusive. I told her that we were never going to date and I walked out. She saw me with another girl in amusement park and she called the girl a slut making a really big mess there. I pulled her aside and reminded her the meaning of a one night stand. She insulted me and left, feeding Vivian lies.

      Besides if Vivian loved you she won't seriously break up with you because of what she heard" "sorry to interrupt but I kind of understand Kelechi. They think they can change you whereas they can't" I say out of experience.

       Chuka looks shocked. He just walked out and I ordered room service for all of us. While we were eating a very drunk Sophia waltzes in and slaps me in the face. "I hate you. One way or the other my happiness revolves around you. And it really sucks" She spits out.

      Teju receives a notification immediately and gulps when he opens it. I just stand there shocked. "What did I do?" I ask thinking it's about Dave. "Everything!" She thunders. "Your sooo perfect that I can't live my life without your goddammed name everytime." She shouts.

       All of a sudden she smirks slyly. "I get it. I really get it. You think you can take away my family and happiness away from me because apparently your parents and sister don't even want you."

        An immediate surge of anger over takes me. "How dare you?" I shout as I strangle her. How I wish I can wipe that smirk off her face. "Come on! Punch me. Hell, you can even kill me now. It's what you're good at. Getting angry and keeping the good girl act in front of everyone and of course I will still remain the bad guy in the whole equation" She chokes out before she slumps in my hand.

       I drop her and run out of the room to the garden. I feel like what she said is true. "Hey. She was hurt because of something and she didn't mean it" Dave says behind me. I rest my head on his lap ad I remember my Mum and Dad. I feel myself tearing up and in no time I am sobbing real hard on his lap "I miss them. And it's all my fault. It's a my fault" I say as I doze off.
