Chapter 3

[ Taehyung's POV ]

I really felt bad for Areum. I cant imagine the courage she had to keep on smiling in front of people who didnt know what she was going through. She must've felt so lonely when she went through the loss of her parents. I looked at Tannie and said, "Did you like playing with Jang-mi?" I only got him wagging his tail in return. "You made a new fried, huh?", I said and ran my fingers through his fluff. The next day I decided to go and meet her. Her cafe was 30 minutes away from my house so I drove there to grab a coffee before going to work. I entered the cafe and went to the cashier while looking around. "Hey, Fatty! Give me a chocolate donut and a caramel macchiato.", I heard a guy shout. I looked at Areum and saw her slightly smiling and nodding her head. I noticed that the guy was going to say something else so I just pushed him aside and said, "A strawberry cheesecake and a vanilla milkshake, please."

"Hey, kid! I was here first!", that guy shouted. "If you were here first, then I think you're blind since you didn't notice the sign that says 'rude behaviour towards employees will not be tolerated. If you notice someone being rude to an employee, feel free to push that person aside and give your order to the cashier' Also...sorry for being disrespectful-" "You should-" "Don't interrupt me! As I was saying, sorry for being disrespectful towards blind people because I know that eventhough they don't have an eyesight, they are the most polite people ever. So to call you blind is the most disrespectful thing for them.", I said and turned to look at Areum whose eyes were wide open. While I was paying for my order I heard her ask, "So, why are you here?", she asked. "Um- my university is beside your college so I decided to have something before attending my lectures.", I replied and took a seat near Areum so that I could help her out if she needed any help. While waiting for my order, a lot of people made fun of her but they immediately stopped as soon as they looked at me.

Why? I may or may not have given them one of my death glares and acted as if I would kill them. Yes I'm acting like a maniac but you should never bully anyone. You have no idea what that person is going through and that person might be having a terrible lifestyle than you. I mentally slapped myself after realizing what I had said to her. "𝘐𝘵𝘴 𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘳 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬! 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘸𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘮𝘦!? 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘺 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘯𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘤𝘢𝘧𝘦 𝘴𝘰 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘺 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐'𝘮 𝘭𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨. 𝘞𝘢𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘰, 𝘒𝘪𝘮 𝘋𝘶𝘮𝘣𝘏𝘺𝘶𝘯𝘨.", I mumbled under my breath. When my order arrived, I quietly ate the cheesecake without making any eye contact with Areum. I guess she went to freshen up for a bit since there weren't any new customers here. I flinched when I felt someone tap my shoulder so I turned around and saw Areum standing behind me.

"Are you sure you're here because of your university? Its summer break and there aren't any universities near this cafe.", she said. "Well- Uh-", I tried to say something when I heard her giggle. I pouted at her and went back to eating my cheesecake. "Aw~ is TaeTae mad at me?", she asked while speaking in a baby tone. The nickname caused me to choke on the cheesecake that I was eating. I looked at her and asked, "D-Did you just call me TaeTae?" "Uh...I have to get back to work.", she said and went to the counter which made me laugh. I quickly finished my cheesecake and milkshake since I was practically going to be late for work. After finishing my order, I went to Areum and tapped on her shoulder which made her flinch and look at me. "You scared me!", she said and pouted. "I'm sorry~ But I have to go now so I decided to say goodbye to you.", I said and smiled at her. "Well them...thank you for coming!", she replied. "Bye and thank you for your amazing service!", I said and left.
