Chapter 4

[ Areum's POV ]
< 1 month later... >
"Hey, Taehyung?", I said. "Yes, babycheeks?", he replied and looked at me. "Remember the day when you confessed to me?", I asked. "Yeah...what about it?" It had been a month since he confessed to me and I rejected him...thinking he just wants to play with my feelings. But after that day he just acted normally around me as if he hadn't confessed to me. Day by day I kept on thinking that it was wrong for me to reject him. I was just scared, not wanting to seem like an easy target for boys. The fact that his friends bullied me made me think that it was just a bet he had with them.

But as time passed and our friendship became stronger, I realized that he genuinely really liked me. Whenever I would call him to tell him how my day went, he'd be there at my doorstep in just 5 minutes. His university had started but mine was still under renovation so I was still on summer break eventhough I feel like it will take months for the university to finish the renovation. But my university actually sends video lectures to us through email so that when we go back to university we wont be lacking behind for the syllabus. They even send tests so that we can write it at home and no we arent allowed to cheat because my university is smart. One of the teachers stays on video call to make sure we dont cheat.

Taehyung had come to my house after his lectures ended which is where we are now. "Areum? What about my confession?", he asked. "Well...I was thinking.." "What's wrong?" "I'm ready." "For what?" "I'm ready to date you..." As soon as I said that I heard him yell, "HELL YEAH!" But when I looked at him, he cleared his throat and said, "Oh Cool." I giggled at his behavior, knowing that my soon-to-be boyfriend is a weird cutie. "Let's go!", he said and got up. "Where?", I asked him. "On a date!", he said and wore his shoes. "I'll go and change.", I said and went to my room. I looked through my closet and spotted a dress so I took it and changed my clothes. I looked in the mirror and noticed how fat I looked in the dress. It didnt suit me at all.

"Why am I so fat? I dont want Taehyung to be seek with an ugly and fat girl like me....How did he even start liking me?", I said to myself. "Because you have a beautiful personality. My bad day becomes better when I'm around you. Everything about you is amazing and I dont give a damn about what other people think about us because I know that you make me happy and I promise that I'll make you happy as well. I love you for who you are, not your weight or your looks or the way you dress. My love for you will stay the same whether you lose weight or gain weight. I hate it when I hear you degrading yourself because for me you're the most beautiful woman I've ever met." I turned around and saw Taehyung standing near the door.

I went to him and hugged him tightly. What he said  made me feel really loved. I tried to control my tears but I failed to do so. "Why are you crying?", he asked. "Thank you...", I said. "You dont have to thank me. What I said was the truth and nothing is going to change it. Now...wear your pjs because we're gonna have a date here.", he said. He went outside the room and I locked the door. I changed my clothes and wore something comfortable and went outside to him. "I'm gonna go and change my clothes. I'll even bring Tannie so that him and Jang-mi can play around while we enjoy our date.", he said. "Perfect.", I replied and watched him leave the house.

[ Taehyung's POV ]
While I drove to my house, her words were stuck in my mind. I hated the fact that she saw herself as someone who's fat and ugly. All I see is an adorable and cuddly little teddy bear. I parked my car in front of my house and locked it before going inside my house. I saw my friends sitting on the couch with my parents and they looked at me as soon as I entered the house. "Hey, Taehyung! Wassup, man? You dont hang out with us anymore...", Yuta said. "I've been busy..." "Busy with what? Our university just started and we dont even have much to study. Plus, your parents told us that you're rarely at home.", JinSeok said.
