Igris stood on the railings of the ship as the ocean winds hit the sails. It wasnt warm, nor cold but just the right feeling. Even though it was night and the moon shined across the waters, it felt refreshing to him. There was nothing but the ocean. The feeling of fresh air was new to him. As the refreshing feeling hit, so did the past. Like static. Its painful but he endures it, he always does. He grips his head softly until again. Static. He gripped it harder until he heard a voice.
" Still getting used to it? ".
Igris turned around and saw Vic standing there with a bottle and two cups," Somewhat. It's nothing I can't handle ", Igris said as he turned back around.
He walked towards him,
" You being lockdown for so many years really put a toll on you ",
Vic said as he passed him a cup. He grabs it as he swings the liquid curiously around. He took a sip," Valso? I thought it was forbidden to bring alcohol in the ship? ", Igris asked
" Well when your friends with the captain some rules are lifted Haha ", Vic said as he waved at the captain with a smile,
" I knew that captain for a long time, he's reliable and good person overall. Shit he actually wanted a bottle for himself "Igris smiled, " Well it's not like I needed it at the moment. The last time I had Valso was with Castif. I always thought alcohol tasted bitter ", he said while he drunk
" Well it's not really about the taste, it's about what it does to a man. For some it's just a good drink for others it's to fill their sorrows ", Vic said.
" And which category do you fit it in Vic? ", He asked
He stared at him before answering,
" .... Both "" ... I'm sorry Vic. I didn't mean to say it that way. I'm just tired that's all. It has been a couple days already"
Not saying a word, Igris gave him the cup back and didnt say a word more. Vic could sense the anger swelling in him, the guilt. The pain. That's probably all he knows. Vic case him before he walks down the stairs,
" It's hard see the light in this world, hell I can barely see it myself. That doesn't mean that it's not there though "
" Maybe we don't deserve the light, don't you say?", Asked Igris
" Maybe we do .. ".
Igris walked down the stairs and Vic looked at his cub. He turned back around to the railings and threw his drink frustratingly into the ocean. It's been hard leaving Nasu and everything behind, it's been hard to been giving this mission.
Igris woke up as he heard seagulls and the crew. He stood up and walked towards the upper deck. The sun blinded him for a moment until he regain vision and saw Ntete island. A large beautiful island. There was no same color of leaves and the mountain sides was smooth as they could see water flowing down. He walked up to Vic as he was taking with the captain.
" Igris you're awake ", said Vic.
" What are we doing here? Is this Velcan? ", He asked
" No but it's a pit stop. We need to drop off some people and bring in more supplies. No worries itll be for a day or two "
He looked at the vibrant and beautiful island, never seeing it upfront in his life before, " It's beautiful. I can feel the islands energy, it's calm but .. something just about it "
Vic smiled, " So you caught that? Your getting better. You are right though I can also feel that energy. Maybe the locals can tell us more about it ".
" The locals are kind and humble people. Talk to some you'll be surprised, especially on the fact that they never step foot beyond their town's border ", the captain said as he puffed his smoke, showing him up close his slow eye.
