KATE'S POV

The day turned out to be peaceful until I felt a presence of Xavious but then I thought nothing of it. I was probably imagining it until I see Heithen enter with a beautiful girl behind him. He introduces us to Edina; a rogue werewolf and from there on Kane welcomed her with open arms.

He directs her towards Ana and I and leaves us to be.

"I can't thank you all enough for how generous you've been" Edina says in a small voice as we all walk towards her new cabin house. It was smaller than the one for the guests but it was good enough, at least according to Edina it was.

"Everyone's welcome here. Everything is in there and if you need-"Ana starts warmly in her Luna tone.

"-Actually I was wondering if I could get a few of my things from the cottage... If you don't mind" Edina says while her light blue eyes filled with hope. Before I know it, I volunteered happily to take her back and so we were heading towards the cottage, the cottage where Xavious brought her from.

"I can't believe I actually met him..." Edina says while zoning out.

"Him who?"

"The hybrid Alpha! I mean I can't explain it. It's one thing hearing tales and legends but now my eyes have opened to the truth."

"What truth?" I ask lightly as she turns to look at me.

"Why she did what she did." She mumbles as she directs towards the side of the road revealing a cottage. My eyes widen as I smell the stench of burning wood. Edina and I near the cottage and see it blazed with harsh red and orange flares.

I turn to Edina in worry and immediately engulf her into a hug since she began to sob. I lead her away and comfort her to which she falls asleep. I sigh once I arrive back home by her cabin and quickly knock on the cabin door beside hers. The door opens revealing a bare chested looking Heithen in shorts with a confused expression.

"Yes, Kate?"

"I need a favour" I say with a smile nodding my head towards the car. Due to my arm healing rather slowly I wasn't keen on waking Edina up or picking her up. I had no other options left.

Heithen had agreed and walked towards the car. I chuckle realizing upon the fact that he was lean and tall built since all this time I thought he was just a bag of bones.

He carries her through to the first bedroom and I thank him accordingly though he seemed interested towards the events of this evening. After informing him about the cottage I hear him mumble Xavious' name and my teeth clench.

What was wrong with that being?

First he brings Edina to a new pack but decides to burn her previous home without a second thought? I shake my head and realize Heithen was still seated on the sofa, lost in thought.

"I take it you're not leaving, aye?" I say grinning while crossing my arms over my chest in victory.

"Well... it's not like you were planning to stay, we're you?"

"No need to be so harsh, Heithen. She needs you..." I state while turning to leave when he catches my arm stopping me mid-way.

I noticed how Edina and Heithen first came introducing to us. They were both gawking at each other. Not literally but one could tell. Edina couldn't stop blushing, it was pretty cute.

"How do you know it's, it's your mate" He asks while almost whispering the last part. I give him a side smile remembering when I first met Xavious.

"You just know. I think you should find out for yourself, everyone's got a different story to tell and maybe just maybe she could be the very beginning of your story." I give him a tight hug as if on instinct and pull away nodding my head towards her bedroom. As if on cue Edina wonders out to the lounge, eyes filled with curiosity.

I could hear her heart beat faster and knew, so I slowly slip away letting the moon goddess do the rest.

After all, we have to believe in the positive... you never know when life takes a turn and truly the most important part to remember is that you always have a choice.

The day was long and so I planned to bond with my brother and Ana of course. I suggested we go to the beach for a late tea time. We headed towards the private beach near our pack. I remembered instantly as Kane and I recall memories we had with our parents. Ana pulls out a tub of ice cream and we dig in enjoying the late sunset.

The air was light and cool on my skin as I feel my feet sinking into the soft sand. I smile and dance along with the breeze and just filling in the moves slowly at first. Kane had ran straight for the water and Ana played a soft melody from the Bluetooth speaker I brought with me.

I run to her and pull her up with me. She sways with me and soon shows me a few moves. I add a few more moves then run down and jump mid-air performing a stag leap landing softly on the yellow sand. I turn towards Ana who was now dancing with Kane in the water looking like the most perfect couple in the world.

So beautiful I wandered in thought as Ava cooed in sync.

Ana and I sang loudly all the way home as Kane attempts to run away from us. I give Ana a hug and playful punch to Kane making my way to the guest cabin house by the hill.

I enter it with a sigh and slump onto the couch looking forward to tomorrow when out of nowhere I curl in unbearable pain.

The instant burn and agonizing ache has me scorching to life reluctant for something.

Something that was nowhere close...
