Once the two boys arrived at Mark's house they went straight to the olders room since his parents were still at work.

Straight away they started working on the project, creating a PowerPoint that Mark was to present in front of the class the following week since Hyuck couldn't for obvious reasons.

Because of that, Hyuck decided to put extra work into the PowerPoint to make sure their contributions were fair, despite Mark arguing otherwise.

It was only an hour before the pair had finished everything they needed to do. After packing away Hyuck took a seat on Mark's bed, watching as Mark did a few little bits and pieces around his room.

"So, umm... Are you r-ready to talk?" Donghyuck asked, causing Mark to stop in his place.

"I, uh, yeah sure" Mark spoke quietly, shuffling over to sit beside the younger. "I guess I'll start. Ummm. I'm sorry for making you feel like I've been keeping things from you, I don't want to keep things from you so if there is anything you want to know, just ask. I trust you, entirely" Mark explained, starting awkwardly before easing into his words.

"I t-trust you too. You've B-been acting off r-recently. You are n-n-normally the one that w-wants to go out, B-but on Friday, it w-was you that wanted to st-stay in. Is something B-bothering you?" Hyuck asked, turing to face the older beside him.

He watched as the older's cheeks turned pink and then red, his ears following suit. His eyes widened slightly at the question, itself having clearly triggering something.

Mark felt his mouth grow dry as he racked his brain for a way to explain everything. He wanted to tell his boyfriend why he had been feeling so tense and stressed over the past week but he couldn't find the words, instead, he became a trembling mess.

"I, uhh, it's just, I don-, I, umm, I'm, I, uh, it's, umm, iuhh, ummm" he gaped, eyes shifting slightly as he searched for words.

As he watched the older, Hyuck felt an overwhelming feeling take over him. Mark didn't stop his sounds until he noticed the tear streaking down the younger's cheek.

"No, wait, I'm sorry, I just, I don't know how to explain it" Mark defended as Hyuck began to shift in his spot.

"I-it's f-fine. I understand. Y-you still don't feel comfortable t-telling m-me everything y-yet" Hyuck cried, his body shivering as he suddenly felt cold.

"No, that's not it, I do want to tell you, I want to be able to tell you, I just don't want you to get hurt"

Those last words were what made Hyuck look up from where his fingers fumbled, his mind instantly going to the worst possibility.

"Y-you could h-have j-just said. You D-didn't have to D-drag it ou-out L-like this. I'm j-just going to leave. I-it was n-nice B-being your B-boy-friend and h-history P-P-partner. B-bye M-mark" Hyuck stuttered, tears now covering his cheeks and sleeves as he gathered his things and made his way towards the front door.

"No, Hyuck, please. It's not like that" Mark called following the younger.

"Then w-what? W-what has m-m-made you w-want to h-hide even m-more than before. Am I s-so embarrassing tbh-that you w-want to B-break up with me?!" Hyuck broke down, even more, hating that Mark was dragging this whole thing out even more.

"No, it's just, I, I just, we, you, I, umm, I, uh, it's ju-"

"That's w-what I thought. D-don't w-worry. You D-don't have to B-be seen w-with m-me ever Ag-gain. I'll G-I've you w-what you want, all I w-want is f-for y-you to B-be hap-ppy" Hyuck cried, stepping out the door and onto the street.

He cried his entire way him, eyes stinging as the wind blew the tears back into them, his cheeks burning from where he had been constantly wiping away the streaks. As he stumbled into his home, he was glad his parents were working late.

He hauled himself up the stairs, a pain beginning to puls through his head as he climbed into his bed, pulling out his phone as he pulled the blanket over himself. When he was covered he pressed the call button by a specific person's name.

"Hey Hyuck, what's up?" the voice asked. It wasn't until he heard a stifled sob that Jaemin knew what he had to do. "Don't worry, I'll be over soon and you can talk to me then, I'll even get ice-cream on my way over" Jaemin stated before hanging up the phone, knowing the older wasn't going to talk in his current state.

As he lay in his bed, Hyuck stared at the ceiling, the tears still dragging themselves over his skin as they fell to his pillow. He was so caught up in his thoughts that he didn't hear the front door open and close, followed by footsteps up the stairs. It wasn't until a voice spoke that he snapped out of it.

"Hey. Come on, scooch" Jaemin instructed, tucking himself into the bed beside the older once he had moved. "Ice cream? I've got your favourite, cookie dough" Jaemin smiled sympathetically, handing over the tub and a spoon. "you can talk when you're ready. I left my pyjamas here last time so we can have a sleepover if you want" Jaemin offered, the way the older snuggled into his arm slightly indicating that it was okay.

They sat in silence as Jaemin put a movie on, both focused on that and demolishing the tubs of ice cream that sat in their laps.

When the movie finished and Donghyuck sat up straight, putting the lid on his tub, Jaemin knew he was ready to talk.

Is this too fast?

This chapter was quite short but I think it will lead in well for the next chapter.

I'm really excited to write this now that I have a base for the story set and have more of an idea of how to write it.

I also feel that my style of writing has changed quite a bit since writing deserted so if this seems a little darker that's why, also some of the themes are a little bit darker (sort of maybe in a way? 🤷🏽‍♀️). Anyways, I hope you enjoy it none the less.

Thank you so much for reading💕💕
