Bucky's POV

The screen flashed on to the next memory.

"Leo! Its dinner time!" Called the off duty cop down the hall of a small apartment.

Leo got off of his bed and walked out the hall smiling like a child should.

I saw everyone in the room smile and gush at him. He was just a child so it was comforting to see that he was smiling like one now.

A month since Leo had moved in with Amber had gone by and things were started to get back to normal for Leo.

Well not normal per say but they were getting better, the voice was gone and he liked living here.

He tried to get on with life as if nothing in his past ever happened. Sitting at the table and nodding as Amber they started eating. Conversation was casual, Leo professing on how he would like to go to school and Amber smiling.

"Sure next week we will start looking for schools for you."

"Looks like things are moving forward for the kid..." Said Hawkeye smiling a bit...

And for a while I thought so too.

The screen flashed to Leo sitting in front of a T.V. it seemed as if Amber was at work. Flipping to a news channel he started watching it in interest as it showed cops speed down the freeway chasing a speeding driver.

Leo yawned but then flinched in shock as the cars tumbled over each other in a dogpile. The speeding driver had swerved and made the police cars crash into them.

The kid's heartrate accelerated, there was a very slim chance that Amber was in one of those cars but...

"Why does the world hate this kid?" Asked Tony sympathetic.

Leo shook his head trying to get these thoughts away and looked at the door, she will come back... she has to.

For the rest of the day Leo sat at the T.V. waiting for an update. He ended up falling asleep there that night and in the morning was awoken by knocking on the door.

Leo sat up frozen then breaking into a run and answering the door, "Ambe-"

He stopped himself, standing in front of him wasn't Amber but instead a man in a suit.

"Leo Valdez?" Asked the man with a sad look on his face and a sympathetic tone of voice

"Y-yes? Where is Amber?" asked the shaking boy with a worried look on his face.

"I am sorry son but Amber isn't here anymore... You won't see her for a long time."

She is dead... Why is everyone dying? Thought the distressed boy.

Leo nodded and just silently walked to his room and grabbed his stuff plus a picture in a frame of Amber.

The man nodded and led Leo to his car driving him to the foster care centre.

The screen faded as Leo started crying.

The room was silent until Tony started yelling.

"He knows a Goddess! And they couldn't of helped him?!"

"Everything happens for a reason Mortal," Said Loki,

"Was there a reason for this shit?! I don't think so!" continued the riled up Tony.

"He never said that they were good things that happen." I stated earning a glare from Tony.

"Hush children." Said Peter as he kept looking at the screen.

But I am older than you-

The clicking of a pen was heard through the speakers. There was a man sitting across from Leo in a button up and some slacks.

"So Leo... Because of recent tragic events that have happened you are going to have to go through these therapy sessions. Are you okay with this?" asked the therapist.

Leo nodded quietly not really making any noise.

The doctor sighed and smiled at him, "Well we should get to know each other shouldn't we?"

After receiving now vocal answer he continued, "Okay I will start, my names is Dr. Davis, I am 39 years old and live with 3 cats."

Leo smiled a bit internally, cats are cute...

"Today I will just be setting a little task for you," He held out a small book to Leo, "This is a book for you to express your feelings in. You can write when you want, it doesn't have to be everyday so don't stress."

Leo eyed the book and looked at the doctor sceptically.

"I will not go through this book. Every time you write in this book don't even tell me, but when you are ready from us to sit down and read it together bring it to one of these sessions. Okay?" Dr. Davis smiles at him.

After deciding that the he was not lying he took the book and hummed lightly.

"Well that is all the time we have for today, your next session will be in two days." The Doctor smiled lightly as the young boy walked out of the room.

"Poor kid..." Mumbled Dr. Davis to himself looking over his file, "He is only what? 8... God maybe the universe really does pick favourites."
