Ishqbaaaz- The Love Eagles
Ishqbaaaz- A Four Lion Production show, that graced our screen on the very same day four years ago. But unlike other shows, Ishqbaaaz was never only a show for the fans. It was an emotion. It was a roller coaster ride for all the characters as well as for us, the fans. It was a show that was so larger than life yet so relatable to the viewers and the fans of the show.
Was it only a show? I guess not. It was a beautiful bouquet of so many emotions tied with one name, Ishqbaaaz.I don't remember the exact time that when I came across the promo, but when I did, for me the USP was the bond of the brothers. Ok, three very handsome brothers.😍 And the show hit our TV screen first on 27th June 2016. And it brought a lot of changes along with it.
Where in most of the ITV shows even the siblings plotted against each other this show presented us three cousin brothers who loved each other more than themselves. For them, blood had always been thicker than money, and this fact never really changed.
This show has gifted us a couple who weren't equal to each other but there wasn't anyone better for them than the other one. They were flawed, just like us any normal human. They made mistakes, they lied, and even committed sins. But what made them really special was their redemptions. They always repented the mistake, rectified it, and made sure to not repeat it later. That is what makes them special, this is what makes them unique.
But if someone wants to what is the biggest achievement of this show, it will be it could break the social norms successfully. This was the show where they showed even men can cook and women can burn a kitchen down. A show where they portrayed a female lead who wasn't smart before or after marriage. But Annika was an inspiration to many of the viewers from the beginning till the end.
Annika was a lady, so fearless yet soft. She never went on sacrificing everything because if she did, she also knew how to claim back something that belonged to her. But most of all, the girl who grew up without a surname never once forgot her root, her ways, or her basic characteristics even being married to a billionaire. She never lost herself in the glitz and glamour that her new life offered her. But also knew how to mold the new people in her own ways. In a society like ours where the husband's surname is adorned with pride, she kept on marching on her own ways holding her head high beside her husband without using his surname. Even not for the power that it oozes, even not for the pride that it had to offer.
This show blessed their viewers also with a Shivaay who taught us that keep a family together isn't only a woman's task but men can also do it if they try. He didn't only handle the kitchen but made sure all the plates could be there on the same dining table for so long. The man who cooked for his wife cared for her and even lulled her into sleep. A husband who made mistakes but never allowed his ego to ruin their relationship.
This show gave us two brothers like Omkara and Rudra. Two brothers who loved their elder brother like a soul love its body. Brothers who were the pillar for their bhaiyaa and bhabi.
This show brought in misogynistic characters but to point the wrongs of the society so that we can make those right. A show that brought several social problems under the scanner so subtly yet effectively.
Ishqbaaaz was a show that created an impact on our lives. It taught us to laugh with it, it made us cry with it. It taught us the value of unity but also showed us how to fight for what is right. We learned here and we grew. On many nights it helped us to fight our inner battles, and then maybe it was the reason behind our sweating eyes and hoarse voice on others. We celebrated with it, so we grieved. But whatever may happen, we loved and adored our show.
Happy 4th-anniversary Ishqbaaaz. You gave so much that none could do. Memories, lessons, people to admire and so many amazing friends to love.
Otherwise who could ever think a little girl Piyali Bhadra will get the courage to start her own blog?
So thank you Ishbaaz. Thank You so much. You changed me, and so many like me. And so many other people, Who we may not see.
Love you Ishqbaaz.
