"You know that I hate parties, so why force me?" You asked. Right now, you were crammed into a car with your two friends, who had excited expressions plastered onto their faces.
"Girl, you've NEVER been to a party before!" Dianna replied, poking your nose. You wrinkled your nose and scooched near Angelica. "You gotta give it a try!"
"Look, I know that you may not love this, but give it a try! Even I like it!" Angelica said shyly, her face flushing. You rolled your eyes. Angelica's probably the shyest girl that you knew, and Dianna was the basic opposite of the precious cinnamon bun.
"Whatever. Let's get this over with," you grumbled, stepping out of the car. From the large mansion looming in front of you and fancy cars pulling up and dropping off people (mostly couples) dressed in exquisite clothing, your best guest that the person who threw this was hella rich.
"Damn, do you always go to these sorts of parties?" You asked, eyes the side of dessert plates. "This looks fine!"
"Of course not!" Dianna yelled. "Darcy invited us, remember?"
"Darcy?! She hates our guts, so why?" You asked, shocked that the person that has hated you for all her life was inviting you to such a nice party. She was probably plotting your downfall, or embarrassment in front of everyone.
"Who cares?! It's time to get wild!" With that, Dianna grabbed both yours and Angelica's hands and ran into the large house.
As soon as you got in, the regal atmosphere that was outside intensified. Some ladies looked like they came out of the history books with their dresses, while others looked more modern, however was decorated in expensive-looking gems. Every woman there was coated with jewelry, and all you had on was a wrist watch and a wine-colored dress.
The three of you felt... out of place.
"What did I tell you? This was a bad idea, and why did you even listen to the girl?!" You hissed. Dianna shrugged with a goofy grin.
"When I hear the word 'party,' it gets me all excited!" Dianna replied, jumping up and down. "Wanna get some drinks?"
"Aren't we a little young for drinking?" Angelica asked, nervously looking around. "Plus, I don't think we'll be able to afford anything."
"Nonsense! We'll get something that's age-appropriate." Dianna briskly walked over to the bar and slung her arm over the counter. You sighed as she chatted with the bartender, who looked confused and disgusted.
"We should lea-"
Before you could finish your sentence, you knew that Angelica had left. Sighing in defeat, you scanned your surroundings to find your friend. In the corner was a boy about the same age as you that was talking with her.
Angelica looked uncomfortable with him, and was slowly backing away. Your eyebrows furrowed as you walked over to the two.
"Hello there," you said in a deadly calm voice. "How are you today?"
"Good, thank you. How about you?" He asked in a light British accent. You couldn't lie, he was good-looking. Brown hair groomed to perfection, and also looked soft yet slick. His blue eyes were almost shocking, and he looked quite strong and educated.
You felt like dirt talking to him, but that didn't stop you from defending your shy friend. "Fine. May I get to the point?"
The boy raised an eyebrow, and nodded in approval.
"Are you hitting on my friend?"
The guy took a step back, looking appalled by the question thrown at him. "No! She started the conversation with me!"
