EFYA GWENIBOAT'S POV

"Brad... Brad let her out!" Sandra banged the door as her voice reached out, I overheard Anita misconstruing everything, "are those two..."... "Shut the hell up, will you? Unless you want me to help you with it... Brad!" Sandra yelled with frustration.

"Brad?" my phone buzzed in my pocket, "see me after you've showered, and get rid of that thing outside, open the door now!" I stepped out as Anita folded her arms again with curiosity playing on her face.

"Um! Please pardon what took place here, he's totally new here and don't know how to behave accordingly, I will take responsibility for his action, sorry, please accept my apology... I will make sure to teach him the rules we live by, and also introduce him to you all when he is done tidying up, sorry once again!"

I rendered my apologies before heading inside with Sandra, the caller called again as we entered, I took a sigh, wondering how to calm my agitated nerves before the call declines but there seemed to be no way to do that.

"Aren't you gonna answer that? It could be him!" Sandra spoke cautiously as I looked over to her briefly, I grabbed my phone and placed it off again.

"We can talk tomorrow! I am too upset to talk with him right now... I'm gonna shower if Brad comes after me, let him wait here!" Sandra cleared her throat while directing my gaze with her eyes towards her luggage.

"Yeah! Look on that flower stand the guest room keys are there, use there for the meantime, until Gladys comes... She will probably not stay for long!"

I entered my room, "Thanks sweetheart!" She yelled, "no p!(problem)!" I replied and rushed to shower, perhaps, a cold shower will do some magic, while at it, my memories of the few months we were together, scrolled like slides in my head. What Happened to Brad over the years? Why has he turned to a completely different person? "so shameless Gosh!" I blurted.

"You only settled yesterday and, you start with this? Wouldn't kicking you out be the best option?" I screamed my worries out in a second, I am in a pickle right now, how do I act like a good landlady?

I used the period to prepare my second admonition, first one was for Anita, obviously, she showed no respect to any of the tenants on her first arrival and month, she treated everyone like garbage until I was forced to correct her, she had to choose between staying with a new attitude or leaving.

Though she chose the first, we're yet to experience the proper new attitude, will that work for Brad too? I heard the doorbell as I hurried to exercise my leadership rights in my pyjamas, Brad stood on his feet as I closed my room door behind me, I headed towards him with folded arms.

The embarrassment smeared on his face even humbled my temper, "did you shower with embarrassment? It is drawn all over you!" I stated the obvious as I reached for a glass and the water jug.

Efya you are wise and never rush in taking any form of decision, it is time to do it again... I recited my landlady affirmation in my thoughts, to myself whiles pouring the water.

"What happened to you over the years? The new you is weird and complicated!" I inquired as I handed him the water before taking a seat opposite to him.

He took a sip, "a lot! Thanks for the water! Sorry for making you uncomfortable!" His eyes met my gaze as I reverted mine, it is just hard to accept the new him.

" I only want to know about what happened in my house Brad, I've got people to answer to, gosh you only moved in yesterday Brad!"

"I'm sorry and please hear me out! I uh... I took to alcohol last night after leaving your place, I just recounted a mistake I made and couldn't let it roll off my back, so um... It continued this morning too all I wanted was to drink, keep drinking and all that!"

"What mistake was it that could make you lose yourself that way, why will this relate anywhere in my house by the way?" I somehow felt to blame if his mistake was with me.

"Leaving you, and our relationship! The fact that I found faults with it earlier and... Since a year ago when I looked back, and noticed my mistake of walking out of such a perfect relationship!"

He answered succeeding in getting my cheeks heated up and my heart fluttered, but that is not the point now, focus Efya!," liar! We met yesterday and you still pointed out my fault, how could it have been perfect?" I mumbled the last words as I felt uneasy with his gaze burning my skin.

" The fact that we were together but you weren't in there, made it perfect, when I found the one who was present in there in everyway, my life turned to trash, she got me addicted to something that was only a thought to me when I was with you!"

Oh! Gosh! Is my A/C broken or something? I am blushing right now seriously! I can't make him see that. "Are you okay?" He questioned,"huh? Yeah I am, just go on, get to the point it is late!" I tucked in my lips as I tried to calm myself.

" I'm only trying to say that um... I lost control of myself after she came to visit me, just to see how convenient my new place is you know!" He answered all shy and embarrassed, seriously! I am loosing the interest in scolding him, he is like a boy right now.

Am I that intimidating? "You returned not long ago, how did you get a girlfriend that quick?" It may not be my business but, I have to pry a little you know to anticipate how long this is going to go on.

"She's not my girlfriend, we used to be friends whiles in the state but, she returned a year ago and she happens to be a daughter to one of my aunt's friends!" His reply got me wide eyed.

"seriously! You gotta be kidding me! How bad is your situation? You know what? Just forget the explanation okay! I just wanted to tell you that, we, we don't do that here, I am afraid I'm gonna have to eject you if it happens again, I'm not tryna stop you or anything, just don't do it here please!"

I vented, a little, after which he took a while staring at me. "But... I want you to stop me!" He grabbed the glass after his statement whereas my throat went dry out of the blue.

"(E)xcuse me?"...
