With the rest of the day being packed less with chores and quantifiable activities, the ladies frittered away the remaining hours with watching soap operas... Settling in the balcony, Efya rather complemented her evening with writing whiles listening to contemporary songs, with Natalie Grant out numbering the others and partly mulling over everything the day got her.

She received a text message originating from Omar, recognizing the number she took a break to converse with him... Sandra and Nancy decoded the purpose of tuning down her music, they peeped while trying to eavesdrop on her conversation...

She subconsciously smiled while at it, having no idea about what was happening behind her... A moment before tapping on his contact to call, an unexpected call came in rather as her smile slowly faded. "Hello... Brad!" The two ladies stood akimbo sighing heavily with disappointment.

"Hey, can you come outside real quick? It's extremely urgent!" He requested. "Is everything alright huh?" She inquired whiles packing her stuffs. Sandra dragged Nancy away, she informed them of her absence and headed out to meet him. Brad was leaning against her barricade fidgeting with his nails and awaiting her presence.

She lowered her headset to her neck. "Hey! She ordered her steps towards him with folded arms, Brad turned almost immediately at the sound of her voice, "you came!" He placed his hands in his pockets and tried finding words. "So, what was so urgent? Is everything okay?" She inquired again when he chuckled, "Um! Mind if I take a stroll with you? If you're not busy?"

Efya slightly parted her lips, raised a brow and tilted her neck to figure out what the puzzle was, " your urgency was this? I mean..."  Before she would utter another word, she heard a mild screech from her door.
"Yeah sure!" She agreed turning a blind eye to the ladies. Anita stood in front of her apartment and glared at them, Efya to be precise.

"There's definitely something up their sleeves, exes my foot! Hah! " She mumbled and went into her room... Efya seemed to like that anger in her glare, she smirked and looked on whiles walking beside him.

A while of silence and a mild resonance of a rhythm emanating from the headset waved about, "won't be bad to listen to it too?"  Brad broke the silence, "oh come on! You hated my choice of music!" She responded. "Well, that was then... I like the rhythm I'm hearing?" He clarified, "yeah as if you would download it!"  She spat back sarcastically.

She amplified the volume and activated the active voice cancellation, he chuckled shaking his head... Efya halted tacking in her lips "what is it seriously?" She inquired. "Still the same, but I understand now... It helps with new ideas, I like the voice though!" He responded.

"Natalie Grant! That's her name, why did you call me out, I heard it was an extremely urgent situation?" She noticed the sky taking up its dark form. "I'm sorry! I didn't know how else to get you to come, I just... Needed someone to do this with, I'm still new here!" He maintained eye contact with her.

"I believe Anita would have been of a great help to you... You guys got along so fast?" She broke the contact and carried on ahead... "If I didn't know you well, I would have said you're getting jealous of that short moment, but it's not what you think, I believe you know her well than I do, we repel in character and points of view!" He responded.

" I know right! You should make friends around then!" Efya suggested as he stared over at her face down, "I only wanted your company!" Efya looked over to him almost immediately and met his gaze... The silence dawned in again with the music liven the atmosphere around them.

Koffi took notice of them whiles picking up a package from the delivery man, he wandered who Brad could be, he placed his empty hand in his pocket and narrowed his eyes at them.

"Brad!" Brad cut in almost immediately, "I Know! We broke up, does that also mean we can't be friends, or?" He hesitantly reached out his hand and held onto hers, "can't even hold hands? It's just a walk, nothing else!"

Efya took back her hand hastily and smiled uneasily, "sorry, I'm not comfortable with it! Yeah, we could be friends, but that's as far as it can go, I can't just ignore the fact that we're not together and hold hands with you, we aren't kids either!" She smiled.

"Yeah! Thanks, sorry for going too far!" She felt that stare burning her skin from the other side and made a quick turn towards him, Koffi took his arm out of his pocket and took in a deep breath, he reached for the gate and entered.

"Are you alright huh?" Brad probed her sudden turnabout. "Yeah! Can we go back? It's getting darker? We can do this some other time?"

They headed back to the house and found Nancy seated in front of her door, busy with a chew, like a country cousin... She kept a stare on Brad while he departed to his apartment. "Any bullsh*t plans of getting back together?" She inquired with a bit of agitation in her voice.

"Nancy, let's go inside, we had an oral contract of friendship, he only broke up with me, not make me a widow to hold a grudge. How many hearts have you broken anyways? Come on, feeding yourself to mosquitos because of this!"

Efya rebuked and took her inside, "I'm only tryna watch out for you, no one knows when the  noisome tiny mosquito became a gigantic blood sucking demon, he better not try anything sh*ty, today it's a friendly walk, tomorrow then the f*cking story takes a turn!"

Efya headed to the bathroom to take a shower when she received a notification, a message which reads thanks from Brad, she noticed a previous one from Omar "can I call you?" Left blank. She ignored it and carried ahead the previous plan. While on it, she reminisced back on all her encounters with Koffi.

"Cutie pie! Hurry and join us, I chanced on citation!" Sandra yelled from the living room.

"Pause it, I'm yet to shower!" Efya responded as she stepped into the tub!" Well hurry up already!" Nancy barked.
