Friday evening after finishing up at work, Hermione tried to leave early enough that she could go to The Burrow to pick up Kathrine, Mary-Elizabeth, and Lydia, who was staying with the Weasleys again. They all ate a quick supper prepared by Molly who fussed over them trying to make sure they all got enough to eat before the match which started at 7pm.
When Hermione got there, they pestered her for answers about who this mysterious person at the ministry was. The Daily Prophet was full of speculations, as was Witch Weekly and everyone else who was fueled by gossip.
Kathrine and Lydia took to asking questions and finishing sentences in turn as if they really were twins. It was good to have the feeling of twins back at the Burrow again.
"Is it really Harry Potter?" Kathrine asked.
"I've heard he wears a blue coat," stated Lydia
"And that he's tall," sighed Kathrine
"And that he loves to dance" declared Lydia triumphantly.
Hermione rolled her eyes, because if this really was the Harry Potter that she knew then he definitely did not like to dance. In fact, she could recall him only dancing one dance at the Yule Ball their fourth year.
"And he's promised to come to the anniversary ball" retuned Kathrine
"In the Great Hall, on next Saturday" said Lydia, as if the rest of them did not know the date and time of the Ball commemorating the 10 year mark of the Battle of Hogwarts and the end of the second wizarding war.
"And that he's bringing 6 ladies and 4 gentlemen" squealed Kathrine excitedly.
"No, it was 12 ladies and 7 gentlemen" countered Lydia
"Too many ladies," Hermione muttered under her breath to Mary-Elizabeth next to her. And they both started giggling.
"Girls, Girls" Molly admonished them, "finish eating and then you must go, or you'll be late for your sister's match."
They shoveled the last of their food down grabbed their Harpies team gear and rushed to the fireplace.
When they arrived just outside of the arena it was a huge crowd. The Hollyhead Harpies had been playing extremely well this year and everyone had turned up to watch their end of season game. They were playing against the Pride of Portree, a team from the North, who's colors were purple and gold. It looked like a moving sea of green and purple. They made their way to the section reserved for family members of the home team, they weren't the best seats in the house, but they were about halfway up the stadium and right at the center line so you had a good view of the action, but sometimes the game play was so fast Hermione felt like she was watching a game of ping pong. She tried to pay attention for Ginny's sake, while her sister, and Ginny's sisters were talking about how handsome the Portree players were.
The game went well, Ginny getting the most goals for her team, but she had a fair number of assists too showing that she was a team player and did not just hog the ball all to herself. It was all down to the seekers, to see who was going to win. It was Grace Mitchell the Harpies seeker, who saw the snitch hovering in the center of the middle goal post right above the other team's Keeper's head, but her own team was halfway through a complicated play, zigzagging the Quaffle down the field toward where the snitch was, it was all a confusing blur of purple and green as the players darted around and just at the last second before Ginny threw the Quaffle, Grace nose-dived through the goal post chasing the snitch with the Quaffle just inches behind the tail of her broom had it touched her broom on its way through it could have been a penalty but not one that would have lost them the game considering that as soon as the Quaffle passed through the hoop and the bell dinged signaling another goal for the Harpies, her fingers clasped around the tiny golden ball. She spun around and grabbed the Quaffle out of mid-air and flew around in a victory lap holding up both the Quaffle and the snitch, one in each hand. The crowd went wild, no one had ever quite won a game like that before.
