Within the neighborhood of The Burrow was lived the Lovegood family and the friendship between Ginny and Luna meant that they got together often. Mr Xenophillius Lovegood was the owner and publisher of a wizarding magazine known as The Quibbler with the help of his daughter Luna despite having articles of a strange and bizarre nature, it was also one of the more reliable sources for news when The Daily Prophet had been taken over by propaganda, and therefore the quibbler had gained a great deal of respect in the wizarding world and Mr. Lovegood found it made himself quite important, this however did not make him haughty, but attentive to everyone. Friendly and inoffensive by nature, he was simply more outgoing and courteous by distinction.
Thus, with the friendship and close neighbor of Miss Luna Lovegood, that the Miss Weasleys and Miss Grangers should meet with Luna the next morning to discuss the event of the evening prior was of absolute necessity.
"You began the evening well Luna," said Molly with a little bit of forced civility, "You were Harry's first choice."
"Yes," Luna mused, "but he seemed to like his second choice better, she was after all his second, fourth, sixth, eighth, and when was it that we lost count Mary-Elizabeth?"
"Well I lost count of which number of dances, but I do know that after the speeches, he did not leave your side Gin." Mary-Elizabeth teased her oldest sister.
To this comment from her littlest sister Ginny blushed a deep scarlet.
"I do remember hearing something about our Harry and your Mister Scamander, but I do not recall precisely what," Mrs. Weasley asked in a way that was fishing for more information.
"Oh you are referring to what Harry said to Rolf, I thought I told you," replied Luna, "but in any case, Rolf was asking how Harry thought this ball compared to parties thrown by MACUSA in America, Rolf having grown up there, and Harry replied that there was no comparison. And when asked if he thought there were many pretty women here and whom he thought was the prettiest he replied without hesitation, 'Miss Ginny Weasley of course, there is no comparison between her and anyone else in the room.' "Luna told them all.
They all reacted excitedly to this news, Molly clapped her hands for joy and said, "Oh I knew it must be, I knew you could not be so beautiful for nothing."
Lydia and Kathrine giggled about the fact that Harry would admit his feelings for Ginny so openly, and in their hearts wished that someone was as in love with them. They were at the age where young girls are desperate to be in love. Hermione simply raised her eyebrows at Ginny with a knowing look and Ginny continued to blush an even darker if possible, shade of red. Ginny at this point was not quite sure of her own feelings and wanted some time to herself to sort them out before it was commonly discussed, but falling for "the boy who lived" that would never be the case.
"Well, my information overheard was a little bit more to the point than yours Hermione. Mr. Malfoy is not quite so worth listening to is he Mione? To be considered only tolerable even if it is coming from Draco Malfoy, poor Hermione."
"Oh, think nothing of it Luna. He and I have never been on great terms, and if you think about it being called tolerable but not handsome enough is nearly a compliment coming from him. At least he was wise enough to not bring up blood status ten years later, and I wouldn't want to dance with him even if he had asked me." Replied Hermione coolly, like water running off the back of a duck, nothing seemed to bother her.
"He certainly is most disagreeable," joined in Mrs. Weasley, "Mrs. Longbottom told me that she sat near him for over a half an hour without him once opening his lips to speak to her."
Are you quite certain mum?" asked Ginny who was glad to have the attention off herself for a bit, "I'm sure I saw Malfoy speaking with her."
"Aye-That's because she asked him a question on how he liked the ball so he could not help but answer her when addressed directly. But she said he seemed angry at being spoken to."
