"Pope we're not stealing the drone, we're borrowing it," JB said, from the front seat
"Humans are the only animals that can't tell fantasy from reality," Pope said.
"Did you come up with up?"
"Albert Bernstein came up with it, but it applies to this whole treasure hunting thing. So which is it, Fantasy or reality?"
"Why are you so weird Pope?" JJ asked. "Honestly" I added.
"It's fantasy, but possible reality," Kie answered him.
"Reality." John B said.
"Virtual reality," JJ said, lighting his blunt. Pope grabbed it and flicked it off. "Keep the signal clear," he said, JJ angrily closing his lighter.
We pulled up next to Kie's car, and she got out. Her and John B exchanged some words before we got going. JJ moved from his spot on the floor to the seats, and looked at me, and patted his lap. I laughed at him, and moved and sat on him, wrapping my arms around his neck and putting my head on his shoulder. His arm snaked around my waist, as we drove towards the impound yard.
This is nothing new for us, we do this shit all the time. If you haven't noticed.
"Hello? Excuse me?" Kie said to the guard as we all hid behind this thing, waiting for our chance. A minute or so later, he was walking out with an air tank.
"how's it going with Kiara?" JJ asked JB. "it's not awkward, weird, or anything." John B replied, JJ laughing a little. "Honestly I did not think you were seriously gonna listen to me." JJ said "What?" John B questioned him. "I was 100 percent sure she was into you. Pope would agree." He said, smiling his ass off. "ehh" he said. "So like Kie, she definitely gave you the Heisman?"
"Oh no question, yup," JB said. "Gotcha. Hmm" JJ said to me. "Maybe she's just into somebody else," Pope said, all of us turning our heads at his comment. Kie took him to the back tire, and we all ran to the gate, barely making it.
We sprinted to the back, and JJ started putting numbers into the lock. "Do you have the right numbers?" Pope asked him, as JJ couldn't get the lock open. "alright so I might have the wrong numbers." He said. I lightly hit him in the head, as a dog ran up to us.
John B ran to the side of the building, me and JJ going to the side. The dog kept barking at Pope, so JJ decided it would be a good idea, to say "I got a toy boy." And the dog started running towards us. "I was just kidding shit! Sit!" JJ yelled as we both sprinted off. He dragged me into a random boat, and we ducked down. "Shit," I said to myself. He looked up at me and said "It'll be fine." I nodded, neither of us believing his words.
"what's that Tebow, what you got?" We heard someone ask. "Whoever's up there better come on out." He said. I looked at JJ and got nervous, I could see he was too. "I mean it! Don't make me go up there and get your ass!" He yelled. "Wait, Bobby, don't shoot," JJ said, standing up with his hands in the air, forcing me to do the same. "It's me JJ, Luke's kid."
"What are you doing?"
"I swear okay? I didn't want to okay? My dad made me."
"Don't you lie."
"He told me Captain Leo kept his cutting torch, you know after he got fired." JJ started, choking up a few tears. "He said if I didn't get it for him, he was gonna... gonna hit me again," JJ said. "Who's this?" The guard asked, pointing at me. "My girlfriend, she was helping me out," JJ said, once again very believably. "Son of a bitch. Come on down." He said, JJ climbing down, me right behind him. "I almost killed you!" He said. "I know." goldilocks said. "I'll just come up with something, say I couldn't find it," Blondie said. "All right." The guard said. "Sorry," I said before we both walked away, JJ wiping away his tears. He smiled at me, and I smiled back. "Girlfriend, really?" I asked in a tone where Bobby couldn't hear. "I was under pressure okay?" JJ said, still smiling. "Yeah sure," I replied, smiling back.
