Adjustment Period

You wake up in your bedroom, with all your friends watching you. Sonic was handing you a plate of chili dogs. Knuckles was giving you a glass of water. Tails was checking your forehead for any signs of fever. Sticks was just watching. As for Amy, she was hugging you, her face on your chest. She felt your breathing, and lifted her head to see you awake. "Hey, (Y/N). How are you doing, buddy?" Tails asked. "I'm doing well, Tails. Thanks." you responded. "Are those for me?" you asked Sonic, pointing to the plate of chili dogs. "Yes. I didn't know if you liked these, but they were the first thing I could think of." he said. You chuckled and said, "Don't worry, it's fine. I'm okay with these." You took a chili dog, and being the starved hedgehog you now were, just shoved it in your face. "Wow." Sonic said, surprised. "You must be really hungry, huh? You just swallowed the whole thing." Everyone laughed at that moment.

After spending a few minutes talking with the others and stuffing your face with food, everyone except Amy left. Amy continued to hold your hand as you were looking at her. "So, how are you feeling?" she asked you, with a concerned look on your face. You honestly didn't know how to answer that question. "Honestly, I'm very split. Becoming a hedgehog is a big change. On one hand, it's not so bad. I still have my good looks, I can still do all the talents I can do, I hope, among other things. But on the other hand, my clothes probably don't fit me anymore, and I no longer have my muscular physique." Amy sat next to you on your bed, and placed her hand on your chin, moving your face to face hers. "(Y/N), you don't need a muscular physique, or anything like that to get me to love you. I will love you no matter what."

Her words warmed your heart, which was now beating faster than ever before. You hugged her tightly, and she hugged you back. "Thanks, Amy." you said. "Your welcome, my beautiful boyfriend." she said. You looked back at yourself and told Amy, "One thing's for certain. This is going to be a long adjustment period."
