Chapter 36 Wedding day

Monica Russell POV

I have always been a fanatic of the movie "Titanic", it will forever be one of my favorites.

When Rose said to Jack "I'm standing in the middle of a crowded room, screaming at the top of my lungs, and no one even looks up." During the scene, I used to think she was being a hopeless dramatic because how could she not be noticed, when she was gorgeous, with her red curly hair. Yet I found myself in the exact same position, feeling the same exact thing .

I could see my whole life as I'd already lived it. An endless parade of parties, money, sports activities. Always the same narrow people, acting the exact same way. I felt like I was standing in a great precipice with absolutely no one to pull me back, no one who actually cared or even noticed.

Every time I saw the movie "Titanic " I never thought I would be feeling what she felt, so lonely in a crowded room. And here I was trapped in my thoughts as my heart yelled and begged for help. All the bridesmaids were here, looking amazing on their golden dresses, my wedding planner was also here searching for perfection on every flower bouquet,  and my parents were also in my room taking pictures.

I was staying in front of a huge, tall mirror. I was wearing my dream dress, as my hair was half-up, half-down as each curl on my hair fell lose smoothly. Yet I wasn't happy, I was wearing the heels that Haylee had once given me, and all I wanted to do was to take them off and run, run away.

It was 6:30 P.M, and everything was ready, I was going to walk down the aisle at seven. My daddy suddenly asked to be left alone with me, everyone left the room without a single complain. As my dad grabbed both of my hands, and asked softly "Princess, are you happy?"

I nod shortly and lied "yes daddy."

He looked at me as his eyes watered, and asked again "are you truly happy."

I nod as he said firmly "Princess, you can always count on me, please be honest with your old man."

"Daddy." I murmured as tears started to run down uncontrollably, my hands were shaking as my dad wrapped me in a protective hug.

Breaking the hug he said "You look perfect, but something Isn't right here."

"I don't want you to lose all the money you invested." I blurt covering my face with my cold hands. My dad choked and looking at me seriously asked "baby girl, you are actually getting married because of that?"

I nod and said "mom said-" before I could finished he cut me of by saying "you should had come to me, Monica. Who the hell cares about the money. All I care about is your happiness. Besides that money I invested was separated from everything, because it was the money for your studies, the same once you said you didn't want." Once my dad explained everything to me, I felt a huge weight lifted from my shoulders, yet I wasn't totally relieved because I was still wearing a wedding dress and about to walk down the aisle.

"What should I do?" I asked nervously. My dad looked at me and said firmly "You need to put your big girl pants on and clarify things."

I nod as my mom suddenly enter the room saying "baby, the wedding it's starting now."

"But it's not seven." I blurt anxiously. My mom smiled and said "I know, but something came up and the priest needs to leave, so he will be doing the ceremony now."

"What no." I said as my mom pulled me out of the room.

"The wedding is off." My dad confirmed with a bossy voice as my mom glared at him and said "We are not making fools of ourselves, Monica didn't face things at the right time. Now she has to deal with this."
