Chapter #8 My dream, my goal, my diamondMonica Russell's POV
After fixing everything with Marcos and kissing him more then twice we decided to go downstairs and celebrate with the rest. I was freaking out on the inside, now more then ever I couldn't risk Marcos knowing I had a small attraction towards another man, even worst that I had kissed him.
Marcos held my hand in his sweetly and he smiled at me, as we walked up to my mom and friends which they all smiled at us as my mom hugged him tightly and whispered into my ear "That's my girl, congrats!"
I smiled to myself, I knew this was the Right choice, Marcos is amazing, he was the best of the best.
Bianca pulled my hand towards her as her eyes landed on my diamond, Jeremy was giving Marcos his congratulations as Bianca smiled at me and said sweetly "Monica, you should be the most happiest person ever!"
I nod, I really wanted to agree, because my inner self knew this was the best thing that could ever happen to me, however I was lost in my thought. Which I guess was normal for all the things I have gone through today.
Sebastian had pulled a prank on me, I had a crush on Isaac Williams and I was fucking engaged. Those three things gave circles on my head and wouldn't let me think clearly.
Marcos wrapped his arms around me as the three of them where talking yet my mind was flying out of the conversation. I wished my dad was here, I need him to be here, yet he was over at Haiti taking some supplies to a hospital in need.
I smiled and nod to everything that was spoken, Marcos kissed me as my mom took a picture and said with a bright smile "For the wedding!"
Jeremy smiled as he got some pictures himself.
"I can't believe this is finally happening!" Bianca said as Jeremy wrapped his arm around her shoulders.
'Be happy' 'be fucking happy' I screamed to myself begging myself to be happy. I mean I finally accomplish my dream, my goal, and it all reflected on my diamond.
Hours later after eating, celebrating and planning so many things everyone left my huge house and I was left alone with my huge shiny diamond.
Alone with the only wish I had when I blew every candle on my birthdays, the only wish I made when I saw a shooting star, yet I felt exactly the same. I had the diamond I had coveted all this years on my finger but I was alone and feeling like always.I took it out of my finger and holding the ring in my hand I whispered "I hope your worth it, I hope your enough."
Because that was concern now that this ring was really enough. I wasn't giving my car away, this time I was giving myself away. However I am nothing, just a rich blonde spoiled cheerleader. What I am giving up is the possibility of me having other goals, dreams, of me having a independent self. Because the woman who marries Marcos Vermont won't have a life of her own. Marcos Vermont is a heir to many company's and he needs a wife that next to him to support him not a wife with a separate business.
I placed my ring back at my finger were it belonged. And walked up to my moms room to find her in her pajamas brushing her beautiful hair.
"Mom." I whispered her way, making her turn and look my way.
She smiled and said "Baby girl, what is it."
I threw myself in her large bed and she walked her way up to me sitting next to me and started playing with my blonde hair sweetly.
"Am I doing the right thing?" I asked looking at the ring once more.
She looked surprised and replied "This ring is all you ever wanted Monica, Plus this ring has many meanings in your life. You can't give that up."
