Chapter 4: movie night part 1

Dippers POV
After Wendy had left my room I thought to 'myself dose she like me and do I still like her?'and about a thousand other thoughts going through my head giving me a headache.I said to myself "I'll just sleep it off."

The next morning I woke to the sound of birds chirping and got out of bed and took a quick shower while humming a tune to myself I brushed my teeth and hair covering my birth mark then put my usual outfit on a red flannel shirt unbuttoned and rolled up my sleeves and put on a blue v-neck shirt underneath with a pair of blue jeans

I walked downstairs to see Wendy at her usual spot at the cash register I said "hey Wendy" I say with a smile she looks above from her magazine and says "hey dip what you gonna do today?" she asked with a curious tone in her voice "nothing much just gonna go to the diner and grab a bite for breakfast" she looks at me with a frown "I wish I could come with but I'm stuck here" she says disappointedly, I hatched an idea an called out to my sister"hey Mabel can you cover for Wendy today!?" I say with a smirk on my face, and I wink at Wendy She nods in understanding Mabel yells back "no not tod-" I cut her off and yell "ok thanks Mabel!" She yells "dipper pines don't you dare walk out that door with Wendy!" She yells sounding angry I grab Wendy's hand and we ran out the door hearing the doorbell ring Mabel screamed "DIPPPPPEERRRR!!."

Wendy's POV
We ran out the gift shop all the way to town we stopped next to the arcade and we both huffing and puffing out of breath "that was awesome dude!" I say while pumping a fist in the air, realizing we were holding hand we both start to blush like crazy and we both immediately pull our hands away not able to make eye contact I say break the silence "uhhh let's just get going" he nodded in agreement and we walked over to lazy Susan's diner in silence.

We sat down in a booth and lazy Susan came over and asked with a smile saying "what can I get for the hero of gravity falls and his best friend today?" she says with a happy tone "bacon and eggs for me" I say "a stack of pancakes" she responded with a smile saying "coming right up" than dipper asked shyly "so what's been happening the last couple of years..?"for about the next 15 minutes we talk and laugh and tell each other what's been happening the last 4 years then he says suddenly "I gotta use the bathroom."

A couple seconds later lazy Susan comes over with the food and says out of the blue, "You like him don't you?" I nearly chocked on my bacon hearing those words I stuttered saying "I-I don't know m-maybe" she gave me a look the you know the kinda look your mom gives you when she knows you lying "y-yes I do" I say stuttering and feeling my cheeks burn brighter then a tea kettle "why do you want to know?" I ask she responds and says "No reason just wanted to say I'm rooting for ya" I smile and say "thanks Susan" " no problem and don't worry the meals on me" she says with a wink from her good eye.

A couple minutes later dipper comes back and ask "what we're you and Susan talking about?" I quickly replied "nothing just normal girl stuff" I said hoping he can't see through my lie.

Dippers POV
I came back from the bathroom to see Susan and Wendy talking to each other to each other I then ask her "what we're you and Susan talking about?" she quickly replied "nothing just normal girl stuff" I could tell it was something personal from the way she was blushing so I decide not to dig into it.

For about the next 20 minutes we kept talking and eating when we were done we left a tip and walked out of the diner, and back toward the mystery shack and I asked her a question "hey wend do you have a boyfriend?" I ask slightly embarrassed she looks up at me and starts to blush we get lost in each other's eyes then she snaps out of it and says "umm no why?" "Uh no reason" I respond quickly while scratching my neck, and feeling myself blushing we walk in silence toward the log outside the bunker to sit and talk we sit in silence for a few minutes and she broke the silence "do you have a girlfriend?" she asked and I could see her blush "ummm no why do you ask?" "No reason" she said with a smirk we both start to laugh.

We sat and talked on the log for hours and then suddenly we both looked up at each other's eyes and I sat there I couldn't look away from her beautiful emerald green eyes and she looked directly back at mine she started to lean in and I couldn't move I just sat there frozen as a statue, she kissed me on the cheek and smiled while cupping my face "welcome back dork..."
